Waiting for a bleed 🩸

hiya,

I came off the mini pill on the 23rd August to prepare for my PGT-M IVF but still haven’t had a bleed.

Was told by nurses that a bleed should arrive within 7-10 days but nothing as of yet. The only thing I have noticed is that I’m having period-like cramps daily and feel like I’m carrying a heavy weight down there. Today I also had thick jelly-like mucus discharge. Is this considered that my body is preparing to ovulate and it’s just missed the bleed part? I don’t know what’s normal 🫣

My last round of IVF was using long protocol so it didn’t revolve around having a period, so it’s been a long time since I came off the pill in the past for other reasons. Just feel a bit miffed about what my body is supposed to be doing atm!

Hi MyPatronusIsACorgi. This happens unfortunately. No real reason, but a bleed can be delayed when coming off the pill. Hope it's soon here. Diane

Hi the bleed can take longer for some people, I would speak to your clinic they can advise if you need to be checked or just to wait longer. Hope it comes soon for you.
