Hi everyone. Just joined as my fiancé and I are soon to be starting our first round of IVF and I'm a little nervous. Just wondered if anyone on here has any advice about their experiences of treatment, injections... anything really that would help. Thanks.🙂

Hi Zelda1234! Welcome and congratulations on the engagement and starting your IVF journey!
I’ve been through 2 rounds, one fresh cycle and one frozen cycle and I feel extremely lucky to say that I am nearly 31 weeks pregnant 😌
I found the whole process alright... I don’t think I had any minor mood swings etc from the meds (my husband might say different!) and I found taking the meds and injections ok. For me, egg collection was probably the hardest part on the body but mentally the two week wait after transfer is hard!! You end up googling anything and everything!
I think they key is to take each step at a time and not think about the end game too much. This forum helps massively too if you have any questions or just need to rant / chat to someone in the same situation. Everyone is so kind and supportive.
I hope that helps a little bit. Try not to be nervous about it - you’ll be amazing I’m sure 🤗
All the best and keep us posted! xx
Good luck! My advice is be selfish and don’t push yourself. Rest when you need to and don’t make too many plans because you don’t know how you will feel physically or emotionally! A lot of partners do the injections but I personally do mine myself. I like the control. But do what’s right for you xx
Hello, Congratulations on starting this journey. I wish i seen this forum before i started. Id say take a deep breath and do what makes you happy to get you through this. Everyone is telling me to concentrate on the outcome but it is a nervous time. Me and my husband had a nervous wobble the day of the first injection so my advice on those is to make sure you know exactly how to do it on the morning so there is no panic. I wish you all the luck. Dont ever be afraid to ask any questions on here... everyone is lovely and helpful x
Well she explained I've got 3 embryos looking good ,because I've only 3 and I'm forty I can have 2 put back in. Rather in than out xbwhat do you guys think x
My greetings Zelda! Every case is particular so it is hard to give any advice but the most important thing is not to worry too much and always try to keep calm. Our body is unpredictable and anything may happen but do not lose your hope and always go ahead to your dream.
Fresh air, fresh food, good mood, support from your family and positive thoughts are the main components of success!
Its a great but complicated feeling when you finally get the go-ahead. I was definitely glad to be starting but sad it had to be this way; it is definitely an emotional rollercoaster, and I haven't even started yet either. I'm going to be starting my first round of IVF in July. Do you have dates yet?
I've spent this time leading up making sure I'm (and my bf) as healthy as possible. I've started taking supplements and exercising a little bit more. I do suffer from anxiety and I sometimes get really overwhelmed so I do meditation (there is an IVF meditation app) and yoga to try and get control of that.
This is such a great supportive community and people are so knowledgeable so def ask away on the question front.
Good luck!!!
xx
Welcome to the forum. I hope your first IVF is a success. Just make sure to really eat a good diet for the process. Include lots and lots of nutrients. Other than this just stay positive and calm. Listen to the doctors and hope for the best. Know that stress is not good for you. Good luck to you.
