hi everyone, I’ve just joined. Back in feb this year I thought I’d have a check on my fertility as I’m 35 and not in a stable relationship. My AMH came back at 1.97pmol. Very low for my age. I had an antral follicle count scan and they said 1-2 follicles. Since then I’ve had various other tests and had a devastating time of trying to work out how I’ll move forward. Maybe try IUI and become a single mum, talking to my partner (unstable relationship) about possiblity of trying (not going to happen) or egg freeze. I had finally come round to a decision to egg freeze and had AMH retested and it’s now 0.2pmol. I’m devastated. Has anyone with this level had any success? Am I about to go into sudden menopause? The clinic have told me perhaps it was covid (think I had it a couple of weeks ago) and to wait to see if it goes back up before starting anything. I’m heartbroken 😔

Hi, I don’t personally have a success story but I follow a lady on Instagram who had a similar AMH to you and has success with IVF and now has a toddler. Don’t give up hope ❤️
I'm so sorry for... it's difficult 😕but not impossible so don't give up. Believe!
I can’t comment on success of treatment, but when I had my AMH tested last July it was 2.2. 6 weeks later it was tested again and it was 1.We then conceived naturally in December!
I just want to give you some hope, as I know my world fell apart two times over with those results and I was adamant I was going to go into early menopause. Just remember lab conditions etc can influence results xx
That’s wonderful you conceived unassisted, congratulations! I wish in some ways I was in a position to try naturally but that’s just not the way my life panned out.
AMH is almost pointless in determining chances of natural conception because as long as you’re ovulating and you have periods, you have a chance each month. It only takes one egg like they say!
Unfortunately though AMH does strongly predict outcomes of ivf and egg freezing
Chances of success I’ve been told are virtually non existent
If it helps the NHS were still willing to fund me when my AMH came back at 1 (which shocked me!) & they gave a 1 in 5 chance of success. And that was also with MFI. So I’m not convinced it’s as bad as some say. I’d searched through this forum for success stories with v low AMH with IVF and there are a lot. Don’t write it off - but I’d just get treatment booked in sooner rather than later. Xx
Hello. My AMH was 0.4 a few months ago at age 33, so similarly low to yours. I had 4 antral follicles in total and FSH of over 20. We're having a go at IVF with my eggs at the moment but have been told we have a <5% chance of success. If it doesn't work out, then donor eggs are our next option. This might be an option for you too. With donor eggs, there is hope, even if you do go into menopause, but I understand it's not for everyone. Sending you lots of luck 🍀
