Had a BFN this morning following my first IUI two weeks ago. I've just been speaking to my clinic and they seem to be saying I now have to wait until I've had a full cycle before starting IUI round 2 (so that I can have a baseline scan CD18-25). I'm completely shocked and upset - I have PCOS and my last natural cycle was 90 days, only ended by a progesterone withdrawal bleed. It could be months and months until we get another chance. Is this normal? I'd expected I'd be back on ovulation induction meds as soon as this post-IUI period arrives.
I'm also furious that this is only just being explained to me... Anyone else feel like you're only given about half the info you need by clinics and have to push and push to get clarity??

Ugh, so sorry that your clinic sprung this on you, I would be so upset. I also found that my clinic didn’t take enough time to explain most things, which caused unnecessary delays.
To answer your question, when I did IUI, I had 3 rounds back to back. Maybe it’s a different protocol cuz Im in the US? But they were happy to line them up (esp because we needed to get through 3 IUIs before my insurance would pay for IVF), and even had me on Clomid.
Thank you for your reply - it helped me remember it was ok to find this all upsetting and frustrating, and it was useful to hear you did it back to back (so I know it's medically possible!). I think I've got to the bottom of it and I might be able to skip the baseline scan because my cycle is so irregular, but it's still not 100% and it's done nothing to help me stress today!
So I did IUI back to back and it completely failed - first cycle I was able to get it done, following cycles i ovulated too early and had to be cancelled - three times more until I said enough. Talk to your clinic and see if this is a concern. Now I don’t have PCOS so it could be different but back to back cycles completely messed my otherwise regular cycles and system and I’ve had to work at trying to get them normalized. Not sure if this helps but wanted to share another perspective.
Hi Sikhan, thanks for that. I'm really sorry that happened, that must have been so frustrating. I'm not sure if that would be relevant to me but I'll ask/bear it in mind that it might be for the best if I do have to take breaks in between. Wishing you well!
