My wife had her progesterone dose reduced for a few days and then stopped (12 weeks). On the last bloodwork before reducing the dose her progesterone level was 57. On Wednesday, after 5 days of reduced dosage, it had dropped to 35. This is scary to me as that is a big drop and since now she’s been totally off of it for 4 days. I’m afraid it’ll continue dropping.
Can anyone speak to their experience after stopping progesterone supplementation? Thank you.

It can vary quite a lot but I'd check with your doctors if those levels are ok at that many weeks. I didn't have mine measured that late but I spotted when I started to taper off around then and that stopped when I panicked and went back on it. Are you under consultant care following fertility treatment? I was and spoke to my consultant about the spotting and when they investigated they were happy for me to continue to stay on progesterone just to stop the spotting, even though they felt there was no risk to the baby relating to the spotting. Or try your GP - they should be able to tell you about the numbers for this many weeks and the NICE guidance has changed recently to recommend continuing progesterone support where there are certain risks, so hopefully they would feel comfortable prescribing it if the numbers were low or even for peace of mind.
Well I didn’t know my levels but I was concerned because I had to stop at 7.5 weeks. Had mine checked right after and it was 47. No idea if it dropped after that but keep in mind now she’s 12 weeks the placenta should be making it so I wouldn’t be surprised if her levels dropped
I was concerned about stopping as well.. I tapered off progesterone around the same time but it has been 3 weeks now and all is ok. Unfortunately I don’t know what the progesterone level at 12 weeks should be but I thought it reached a peak around there and then levels off?
