2WW and total absence of any symptoms! Please help, I’m going insane!

It’s my first FET and I’m on 5pt5dt today, I’m still hoping for a positive outcome but I’m really struggling at the moment. Surely I should at least feel some tightness in my tummy? Some bloating? But I have nothing at all!

With the fresh transfer in July I was feeling positive all the way and I got my BFP. I also developed OHSS so I can’t compare how I was feeling then.

Surely if it had worked I would feel some tightness in my tummy?

Hi 👋🏻 I’m at exactly the same point as you and feeling the same! I’ve just woken up feeling a bit rubbish about it all!I do find it so difficult to look for symptoms as the hormone meds can give you all the same symptoms as pregnancy, and the one time I did get a positive I had no symptoms at all during the 2ww!🙈

Try and stay positive, I really hope yours ends well 🥰

Hi! I don’t know, for me it would be unusual to not have a bit of bloating or soreness to the nipples. Perhaps it’s just too early 🤷🏻‍♀️ When are you going to test! I really hope you get your BFP! Xxx

Hey lovely, out of my 4 transfers the only one that resulted in a baby I had zero symptoms. A bit of cramping a couple of days after where you are now but that was it. Loads of luck xx

FrancyItaly profile image
FrancyItaly in reply toSolly-44

Thanks tor sharing. Not even a bit of bloating? It’s weird also because I’m taking progesterone and I’m a bit constipated and I still don’t have bloating?! It’s all very unusual. How are you going hun? x

Solly-44 profile image
Solly-44 in reply toFrancyItaly

Yep, honestly nothing. So weird considering my previous symptoms must have been caused by the same meds I was on 🤷‍♀️ but not a thing til some cramps on day 6 or 7 xx

0 symptoms for me! I did have the usual period like cramp here and there, but nothing that would make me think i was pregnant. This went on for quite a while after my positive test actually! 🤞🤞🤞

I have not had one single cramp, that is why I’m going insane! Hopefully it will all hit me soon 😂 Thank you x

Hey lovely, I know the tww is absolute torture but any symptoms at this stage is just the drugs. I’ve done 5 transfers, a mixture of fresh and frozen and with the frozen ones I always felt pretty normal. Try and keep busy, got everything crossed for you!xx

FrancyItaly profile image
FrancyItaly in reply toKiboXX

I just can’t understand why I feel too well, I struggle to go to the toilet and still, 0 bloating, not even from the meds! I’ll have to survive for another 5-6 days and see. Hope all is going well with you! x

KiboXX profile image
KiboXX in reply toFrancyItaly

I was the same on my frozen transfers. I didn’t feel anything until I was around 6 weeks and then the sickness and tiredness started xx

The only symptom I had during TWW was my nipples were a little bit sore. I did also have a tiny bit of cramping 10dp5dt for about 1 minute but nothing abdominal earlier than that, and actually nothing else abdominal until morning sickness. I'm 37 weeks now. Hope it works out for you! xx

FrancyItaly profile image
FrancyItaly in reply toPurpledoggy

I had 2 pregnancies ended in miscarriage and both times I had very sore nipples, I just don’t know when it started 😒 maybe a week later. Hopefully something will show up soon. Wishing you the best for the rest of your pregnancy and birth! Xx

Hi lovely. I got my first ever bfp in 2017 and had lots of cramping all throughout my 2ww. My most recent FET I got nothing. And I mean Nothing. No sore boobs, no twinges, couldn’t have felt more normal. I was so gutted, starting drinking coffee again last couple of days and planning next moves. Well it was a bfp and and now I’m 14 weeks pregnant. So ignore everything you feel as it means nothing!! It’s torture I know, but hold tight and take it one day at a time xxx

FrancyItaly profile image
FrancyItaly in reply toMaui2020

Thanks for sharing. Did you have any bloating or anything at all? I am not even getting that from the meds which is strange! I’m on estrogens and progesterone 🤷🏻‍♀️ Hopefully I will get a nice surprise in the end like you did xxx

Maui2020 profile image
Maui2020 in reply toFrancyItaly

No bloating whatsoever. Felt the opposite of hormonal/pregnant. The things that normally happen on progesterone weren’t even happening. I hope you get a lovely surprise. I can’t tell you the shock I was in. Don’t read into anything- I can’t emphasise it enough. My only two bfp tww could not have been more different. Xx

I didn’t have any symptoms at all during the 2WW and during the rest of my 16 weeks of pregnancy. Hang on in there 🙏🏻🙏🏻 Xxx

FrancyItaly profile image
FrancyItaly in reply toMakingbabyN

I think I’m stressing because I did in my previous pregnancies. The first was natural so probably it started much later and I wasn’t paying attention, with the second I had OHSS… I just hope it hasn’t failed 😣 Did you start your FET? x

Hi lovely! After having no symptoms on my fresh I was sure that my frozen round had failed too as I had no symptoms and the night before I was due to test I had period type cramps on old blood…fast forward and that no symptom round was positive and he made an appearance in October. Please keep the faith as women differ as to weather they have symptoms or not when it works xxx

Nope! I thought that too. With my first two FETs I thought I had lots of really good symptoms (nausea, constipation, bloating, sore boobs- All symptoms of periods and pregnancy) and both failed. But with my third I had a double embryo transfer and had no symptoms at all. I had some cramping early on and then spotting on d8/9p5dt and was so convinced that it was my period coming. It wasn’t! I got my first IVF BFP. I then had two two bleeds and didn’t have any symptoms until 6 weeks! I’m now 7w+ 2 with twins and my only real symptoms is nausea and indigestion. Honestly, no symptoms don’t mean anything. I complained that I didn’t have any - and now my nausea is awful!! 🤣

Also each pregnancy is different. I have been pregnant (chemical and mc) and both I had different symptoms at different times. So even if you have had experience of something with one pregnancy, doesn’t mean You experience that with the other. Try not to drive yourself crazy!

Wishing you all the sticky luck!!

Xx

Thanks for sharing your story. I don’t know, I had two (short) pregnancies and always had lots of symptoms but trying to stay positive. It’s not easy! Congratulations on your twin pregnancy and all the best! Xx

I've had three BFPs from two fresh transfers and most recently one FET - the first two ended before 6 weeks but FET stuck. The first one I had the strongest symptoms (boobs went massive, exhausted...), second not much really and third basically nothing changed from the symptoms I was getting from the meds the whole time bar some cramps for about half an hour at 2dpt. I was bloated for most of the year from the IVF rounds and then the FET meds so that was just a constant. I thought the FET hadn't worked as I felt no different to before the transfer. I think early on the symptoms are down to the meds and I read that your body can react differently each time or get used to them, which I think may have been what happened with the FET. The actual pregnancy symptoms came around 5/6 weeks and they were very noticeable and different, and a load of the existing ones changed/went when I tapered off the meds. So I wouldn't worry too much about symptoms or lack of early on, but easier said than done! Best of luck.

FrancyItaly profile image
FrancyItaly in reply toFruitandflowers

Yes, easier said than done! I guess I wouldn’t be worried if I had never experienced a pregnancy. Hope it’s just early days for me, really do! Thank you x

It’s so hard right? I just had my transfer on Friday and am waiting for some something but it’s so early. Another ten days to go! It’s so hard. And I guess the meds make you feel so low. Have to keep busy. I know I will end up testing early but will try hold out till next weekend.

FrancyItaly profile image
FrancyItaly in reply toUbeeten8

I have no idea why I am so worried, I swear I was totally fine with my first transfer, so positive. I really hope my gut feeling is wrong! Will be testing on Friday I think, ODT is Saturday. Best of luck to you! Xxx

Dear Hopedream,Completely understand ! I have been so bored resting all weekend am quite looking forward to going in to work to kill the time. I mentioned to my partner I wanted to test early and he went crazy! I’m going to do it anyway Sunday- OTD is not till next Wednesday 😳.

Good luck to us all xx

So how long after transfer you can test? The clinic said I can do a home pregnancy test on 11pt x

My clinic doesn’t do blood pregnancy tests anymore 😡they say home pregnancy tests r so reliable these days, my date it 9dpt…. This is my 8th transfer guys and sorry to say but it doesn’t get any easier! Every transfer is harder and symptom spotting is 1000 x worse 😭 xx

Hi hun, I SO understand your feelings but TRUST ME, feeling nothing is absolutely NOT an indication of non-pregnancy! Every pregnancy is different, and for me both times I didn’t feel ANYTHING - like anything- (one was a fresh transfer and one was a FET) I got my BFP. I was so sure nothing happened that the second time (the one that gave me my precious 6 months old daughter) I was about to stop the progesterone early because I knew it didn’t work 😉I had already contacted the clinic to make another appointment!!! This is to say…just take a HUGE breath, IN and OUT…time is flying and you’ll soon get to test xxx STAY STRONG XX

FrancyItaly profile image
FrancyItaly in reply toToughCOOKIE78

I can’t help it, I feel so moody and teary… it’s hard especially at this time of the day when I have nothing to do and I feel like nothing is happening in there! This is my first transfer and I was not feeling like this last time! I’m doing my best to stay positive. Thank you xxx

Hello lovely,I have been thinking of you and your transfer. If it is any consolation, I didn't really have any symptoms during the 2WW with my last (successful!) transfer! Perhaps, my boobs were a bit bigger than usual, but not massively, and I thought that was just all the progesterone... For me the 2WW was actually the most difficult part of IVF, so thinking of you and sending you lots of positive energy and plenty of luck! x

FrancyItaly profile image
FrancyItaly in reply toEternalwarrior

Thank you hun for thinking of me, I hope I have success like you. It is indeed the most difficult part! Thank you for your reassurance x

The FET that resulted in my daughter I had zero symptoms and could not have been more shocked that it was a positive. I’d also convinced myself by the first scan at the clinic that it was another MMC but actually saw 3 heartbeats! Sadly 2 didn’t make it but just shows you - definitely do not go off symptoms! 😀

FrancyItaly profile image
FrancyItaly in reply toQueerty80

Yes for me it will be the same, I have had 2 short pregnancies and never a good news at the scans! I hope I will have a nice surprise too! Sorry for the 2 little ones who didn’t make it! xxx

Bloating isn’t a symptom you’d necessarily get and definitely not at this stage. You’re very early in the process. The embryo would only just have attached itself and your body isn’t really aware of what’s going on. The most I had through my 2WW was very minor cramps and mildly sore breasts but others had zero symptoms up to the 2 week end. All I can say is try not to focus on any symptoms but on staying calm (hard I know) and try some meditation

FrancyItaly profile image
FrancyItaly in reply toPositivechangeplease

Thank you, I will try! I guess with my natural pregnancy the symptoms started much later and with the second one I had OHSS, so I was very bad. It’s just so strange to feel nothing, not even from the meds! Will try meditation, thank you x

Positivechangeplease profile image
Positivechangeplease in reply toFrancyItaly

Yeah I reckon after any fresh transfer you might feel bloated as I remember I was bloated when my eggs were collected but all my embryos were frozen and from two FETs (far apart from when they were frozen) bloating was never mentioned from anyone I heard of having a FET. I also had symptoms from a negative FET and I didn’t have as strong symptoms from a positive FET. Because you’re aware you may feel something toward the 2 week end but it’s still early - often people get no symptoms or symptoms from 5 weeks. So don’t lose hope or fret too much yet.

Thank you so much for your reassurance! 🙏🏻 x

I’m on the wait to and finding I’m really trying to fake positivity🙄 😂 I’m not feeling symptoms but had some back ache and that worries me as it’s usually the sign for my period … it’s really hard … I have no frozen eggs so could have to start the entire process from scratch … When I had my son 4 years ago though I had no symptoms until literally 2 weeks and that was nausea which I was always told it was too early for - you just don’t know

Hang in there!!! My 1st FET I had no symptoms at all and we now have a beautiful, healthy 6 month old baby girl.

Good luck and just relax and go about your day as normal as you can.

Hi

I’ve never had a fet but I had no symptoms with my fresh cycle until about 6-7wks then a bit of nausea and slightly sore boobs. Try and enjoy the moment of knowing that until you are told otherwise you are pregnant.

Lots of luck 💕xx
