Hello all. When was your care transferred to NHS after having private fertility treatment abroad? I had my ivf in December in Europe. I am currently 7 weeks and had a small bleed last night and private scan showed an enlarged ovary. I contacted nhs24 who referred me to the hospital ward who referred me to Early Pregnancy Unit who told me that they are not the right department for me and that was because I had my treatment privately and referred me to the nhs ivf clinic. A bit of a rollercoaster to get there.. I wonder what your experiences have been.

Hi. I believe it is normal for ovaries to be enlarged still if you had a fresh transfer. You can do an ‘early bird referral’ to your local maternity unit. IVF clinics usually discharge you after viability scan unless you opt for Harmony test etc. Call 111 if any further bleeding. Wishing you a successful pregnancy x

I was discharged from the fertility clinic (albeit UK) at 8 weeks, but I’d already been to the EPU twice due to early bleeding. So I think your EPU are incorrect that they can’t see you - if you’re pregnant and concerned that’s what they are there for. Have you got your midwife booking appointment yet? That’s around 8 weeks so you can ask them, but if you are concerned now I would a) ask your GP or b) go back to the EPU x

Hi, I also had my treatment in Europe in 2021 and my first scan at over 6 weeks was with the EPU. Actually they scanned me twice 2 weeks apart as they suspected twin pregnancy. Definitely go back to your EPU or contact GP.
