I hope this doesn't upset anyone who is on their IVF journey and having a tough time. But I wanted to update as when I was starting out on my journey I was frantically searching for success stories for over 40's and feeling abit lost and hopeless after a gloomy first IVF appointment.
I'm delighted to say that I had my NHS 12 week dating scan as well as a very detailed private Nuchal scan and combined testing and all is looking really well with baby. ๐
I have now seen bubba on 5 separate scans and apart from worrying like crazy the day before, this has been really reassuring.
I have found this forum absolutely brilliant in gaining advice, making friends and providing me with a recommendation for a clinic who diagnosed elevated NK cells that caused 2 early miscarriages. Plus they advised embryo banking so I have 3 Frosties in the freezer which I'm also so grateful for.
I hope to now be able to relax a little and enjoy this pregnancy.... Just as soon as the nausea, exhaustion and a zillion other symptoms bog off!! Let's see how that goes!! ๐๐ค๐ค

Thank you. I took Hydroxychloroquine 6 weeks before transfer and am still taking it. I also took 75g Aspirin and also still on that. And had an Intralipid one week before transfer, then on positive pregnancy test day and every 4 weeks until 16 weeks. (Plus I was on Crinone and Lubion injections but that was just for Progesterone). Xx
Amazing news!!! ๐ฅบ๐ฅฐ So happy for you! I am glad all scans are looking well!! Your symptoms may ease soon, but might make a reappearance later on again ๐
Iโm absolutely delighted for you. I share your sentiments re this forum! Iโm 44 and now 16 weeks pregnant. I also had elevated NK cells and had immune treatment for this before my FET. My nausea subsided around 13 weeks hopefully you will be the same xx
Congratulations!!! And also to you Chrissyldn! Iโm 41 and 20 weeks pregnant. Ivf on nhs which ended up in FETs my first didnโt work but this is my second and one more in the freezer. Really sounds positive about finding out about the nk cells! Yep nausea should definitely ease up soon letโs hope you donโt have what I have during 2nd trimester of chronic wind and acid reflux! Although still way better than the sickness phase!
Congrats ๐. Am so pleased for you that everything is going well.
I should be starting my first medicated FET in a month or so after my current ERA cycle has finished ๐ค. Off to Epsom for an intralipid etc then ๐ฉ. We've got 10 frozen embies to try so hoping at least one of them works โค๏ธ xx
Thank you. Ah that's brilliant, wishing you lots of luck. ๐ The Intralipids actually fly by but I recommend having a drink and your phone to hand! Xx
Lovely news congratulations to you and all the other fab women on here getting to their little miracle. I just turned 42 and Iโm 20 weeks pregnant, after 3.5 very tough years the anxiety is still there but hoping that eases, along with the nausea soon ๐. Hope you start to feel better soon! Xxx
Ah wow, congratulations! Has your nausea disappeared and then returned or stayed the duration??!
I woke up today to more wee trips even than usual and some light spotting (which frightened me to death) but after speaking to EPU and going to the walk in clinic I have a UTI now being treated with antibiotics.
Unfortunately mines been there throughout! I was being sick a few times a day, thatโs now stopped but still feel nauseous a lot, really hoping it doesnโt last the duration ๐ฌEverything is so anxiety causing isnโt it?! Glad youโve got antibiotics and can get that cleared up, the joys indeed ๐xx
Congrats!!! So good to hear when one of us "over 40 girls" gets it done โ. I was so worried throughout my entire pregnancy at 42, I forgot to enjoy it. I wish, I could go back and redo it, so try to relax and stay in the moment.
Thank you that is helpful. We've been trying and had 5 treatments with no luck. It's been 18 years and no Dr's are giving us a reason for the failures.
Congratulations!! โค๏ธโค๏ธ As a 41yr old, Iโve always looked out for posts like this to let us know it is possible for us over 40s, yours have always given me hope. And now Iโm also 13 weeks, just had my nuchal scans last week to confirm all is well ๐. I unfortunately got covid last month- which I think could be long covid now as I am having a lot of lingering symptoms but also canโt figure out if itโs pregnancy too. Waiting to feel better!
Awhh that's lovely to hear ๐ And huge congratulations to you - I'm just a week behind you!
Sorry you had Covid / may have Long Covid, that's rubbish. I have felt utterly exhausted and need regular power naps so it could be pregnancy. Let's hope you feel lots better soon. Xx
