Endometriosis and Covid Vax, fertility treatment on going, would you get booster?
I had my two jabs during two rounds of treatment and it made no difference - second was a less than a couple of weeks before successful FET, and I've recently had my booster while pregnant (all fine). Some women on here have reported delayed or disrupted periods after jabs so something to bear in mind when you're working out timing, but my cycles stayed clockwork. If you're thinking of going abroad I guess there could be difficulties anyway with covid restrictions and you'd need to check the rules around what you can and can't do without different jabs and boosters. Most of our friends and family around world (including 89 year old Granny in Ireland) are positive at the moment and so far a lot have been unwell but mainly mild - they've all had boosters quite recently so could be because of that, or maybe omicron's a more mild disease. I didn't want to take the risk. I'd research and weigh up risks of delay or cancellation of treatment or risk to successful outcome if you catch covid (illness can affect treatment) vs booster. Good luck with whatever you decide.
Hi lovely, I had both jabs whilst pregnant and both me and baby remained healthy. Good luck for your next round too xx
I’m curious as why you want to wait. Once you have the booster you’ll have more antibodies so less likely to catch covid that might upset the ivf. Entirely up to you but if it were me I’d get it sooner rather than later
I personally would get it before IVF as I think it’s a harder decision to make when you are actually pregnant on whether to get it then. And you want to be as protected as possible if you get pregnant so the sooner the better in my opinion. I just had my booster 3 weeks ago just before another FET and it had made zero difference to my cycles and everything still going as planned. Everyone around me has also caught covid and I haven’t, if I had caught it my treatment would have been delayed (something else to factor in especially if travelling abroad for it). Xx
To answer your question, yes I'd get the booster and make sure you're fully protecting yourself as far as possible. Your clinic will probably have advice relating to this, if you have concerns you can always ask what they are advising x
I just got Covid and I am currently 7 weeks pregnant. I wish I had done the booster before starting IVF, it would have saved me a lot of worry!
At the time I was doing IVF the booster was not being recommended so quickly yet. If I had the choice I would have taken it.
Good luck
