I went for a scan on Friday should of been 6 weeks from my dates. Seen baby’s heart beat and felt so relieved only then when he was measuring he said the Baby is only measuring at 5weeks 5 days.. the guy said it’s concerning with it being an IVF pregnancy as I’m sure on dates.. I’ve been thinking about it all weekend.
Any advice? Success stories after having the same thing?

My recurring miscarriage specialists said up to a week is absolutely fine even in Ivf pregnancies. It's so difficult to measure in those early stages. We're talking mm here- it's totally subjective and will be different with different specialists. I was 3 days off at my first scan and it was absolutely fine. Seeing a heartbeat is so important. Take care xx
Mine was out/behind by a few days at the early stages and they said not to worry as it's so hard to measure and it's approximate. Even later it didn't seem easy to get exact measurements and they're after broadly in the right ballpark. If it was a private clinic I'd take what they say about IVF with a pinch of salt and your clinic scan should be able to give you more reassurance. The heartbeat is great news as even that's not always a given so early.
Hi lovely, mine was measuring 2 days behind at my first 6 week scan, by 8 weeks scan it had caught up and by 11 weeks it was a day ahead. The sonographer said they can be 3 days out either side and it’s fine. Try not to worry too much. As long as they saw everything else I’m sure it’s fine. Congratulations xx
A couple of days out is fine. I was a week behind where I should have been and despite seeing a heartbeat I could tell by the mid wife's face something was wrong. Ordered a private scan 2 weeks later and no heartbeat. I googled loads about measurements and lots of babies can catch up. My friend was told twice her baby was measuring behind. Her baby was perfect. It's an emotional rollercoaster. Fingers crossed for you X
All through my last ivf pregnancy I would measure sometimes ahead and sometimes behind, my doctor would tell me always that a couple of days off plus or minus (even up to a week) is fine and no need for concern.
I was 2 days behind at my viability (8+1) week scan but then spot on for 12 weeks. At the viability scan, my clinic (including one of the consultants who was at the scan as well as the ultrasonographer) told me anything up to 7 days out is fine, as others have said, so it sounds like you ended up with an inexperienced ultrasonographer. You have a heartbeat and that's brilliant xx
Mine was measuring 3 days behind at my 6 week scan and kept measuring a few days behind until my 12 week scan, when it was only measuring 1 day behind. Mine was an IVF pregnancy too, so I was worried about it as well, as I thought the dates would be more precise. However, my consultant said they can be a few days days out either side and it’s fine. It would be worrying if it was more than a week. Congratulations, by the way! xxx
I went at 6+1 they measured 6+5 then by 13w scan I measured an extra day ahead. My scan pic attached
