Hi Madeline. It could possibly happen, but you would probably need to have IVF/ICSI. Diane
Hi Madeline
Our urologist said that morphology isn't a very important parameter. They mainly check it just to make sure that the sperm don't have a condition that gives them globe-shaped heads. If the low morphology and slightly low motility are the only problems, you might be able to conceive naturally.
However, the lower than average results might indicate that there's also an underlying problem like DNA fragmentation. If that's the case, then you would have a difficult time conceiving naturally until that's improved. I would definitely recommend checking for DNA fragmentation sooner rather than later so you know what you're dealing with xxx
Hey,
My husband was diagnosed with 1% normal sperm, with the rest being abnormal. We fell pregnant naturally once but miscarried, and continued to try during and in between IVF treatment for 18 months and nothing. We were advised when we got the initial results that whilst we could fall pregnant naturally, it may take a while and ICSI was our best chance.
As it turns out, us not being able to fall pregnant and stay pregnant naturally is more complex than just the sperm.
I do know of someone who has fallen pregnant three times in 18 months (her last pregnancy stuck and she’s due any day) with low sperm so it definitely can happen.
My husband drank proxeed twice a day for a year, took FertilitySmart supplements each day, reduced intense exercise and cut out alcohol/reduced intake. He also had to keep himself cool (he gets so hot) and within a year, his sperm morphology improved to 3-4%!
Sending you lots of luck xxx
My husband improved from 4% to 9% taking Proceive tablets and with a better diet xxx
