Hi all, I heard from 2 ladies who had their transfers that they were told to self-isolate for 10 days after embryo transfer. Could this be an NHS rule or because of some other reason? My clinic told me I can go back to work the next day.

Do I need to isolate after embryo transfer (UK)
I had to isolate prior to embryo transfer .. from day 9 of stims until the day the embryo was transferred - so could have gone back to work the next day if I wanted to. It is not an NHS rule to my knowledge, but it was a requirement from my fertility clinic (private and NHS, we were on an NHS funded try) to protect patients, but also to ensure I was not unlucky and caught something as treatment would have been stopped - I would not have been allowed to come in for transfer. It was due to the pandemic at the time - it may have changed since as this was end of 2020.
Wishing you all the best wherever you are with your treatment! 🧡
Maybe just the clinic's preference - do not think it is an NHS Guideline at the momentJanet
Hi Aliice I think these are down to individual clinic policies. Mine tested you for Covid twice during an ivf cycle. As for isolating after the transfer, the clinic never mentioned this but overall I was careful without completely isolating.
