Just thought I'd write an update incase any ladies over 40 or anyone considering embryo banking is reading...
So, hubby and I agreed to do 2 more cycles after our first cycle where we had two early mcs. The reason was to freeze time and hopefully increase our odds.
The second IVF cycle was a banking cycle in Sept with the aim to freeze blastocysts. And it worked!
After a nail biting wait we got 9 eggs from 18 follicles and we have a top quality 4AB embryo frozen and an ungraded blastocyst!
We actually had 3 more blastocysts they let go to day 7 to hopefully improve but sadly weren't good enough quality to freeze. π
I then had about a 5 week gap and perioda etc., and have started on the Northisterone and am going for egg collection beginning of November.
Really hoping I respond well again and we get some good quality frosties and transfer a good fresh one. π€
This round I am also on Hydroxychloroquine and an intralipid to calm imflamation as I have active NK cells and thyroid antibodies. As well as Aspirin and Fragmin to thin blood, I have also requested Progesterone testing day before transfer and will be taking Lubion every 3 days and Crinone daily.
With all the vits and eating a gluten and dairy free diet, I feel like we're chucking the kitchen sink at this.
Wishing for third time lucky. πππ Xx

I'm also 42 and just finishing up Duostim (two rounds of stimulation in the same menstrual cycle) we also have a 4ab frozen, from the first egg collection 2 weeks ago, and another EC this Friday so hoping for at least 1 more blast.
Thank you! π₯° That's brilliant about your top grade frostie and good luck for this Friday! Hats off to you for back to back cycles... I was shattered after the first one. But it will definitely be worth it for us both Xx
Hope so. My little girl was a 4ab, so that makes me hopeful. But on the other hand, we had 5 blasts from the round which gave us her and only one resulted in a successful pregnancy, so that makes me scared 1 or 2 blasts isn't enough to beat the odds...Aargh, bloody IVF is such a rollercoaster xxx
Aw, thank you. Haven't had an update on numbers yet, but I'm a bit concerned as Dr was 40 minutes late getting to the clinic for collection!!Then we had a problem with the car on the way home, battery went, windows stuck open, torrential rain... had to wait for the insurance mechanic to come while still recovering from the anesthesia and starving from fasting.
Then was awake most of the night with a poorly tummy...
Oh no, poor you! As if egg collection isn't hard enough... Hopefully you'll have a good night's sleep and feel more optimistic tomorrow. And hopefully they'll call soon! xx
Good luck hun. Let me know how it goes. Keeping everything crossed for you. Iβve now done 2 cycles out of the 3 cycle embryo banking package so just going to start the last cycle this month. Am long so EC probably end November ish. Had an extra month break as just couldnβt go straight into cycle 3, I was almost dead after 2.
Also schedule for the immune protocol to start from Dr Shehata once Iβm ready for the transfers. I guess that wonβt be until January/February as have to get both of my covid jabs done before heβll give me the steroids etc.
Have you had an intralipid yet? If so how did you find it? Am a bit nervous about it βΊοΈ Xx
Thank you π I don't blame you having a break... I was exhausted after that first cycle so very glad of it!!. Not long for you to go now though π€
I have my Intralipid at the beginning of November. I'm having my first follocle scan in the morning first to make sure everything is ok and then it's a 6 hour round trip for the Intralipid!! I hate cannulas so not looking forward to it but going take some magazines to distract myself!
Good luck! Iβm 40 but did manage to freeze 3 very good blastos at age 39. The first was top 5AA but didnβt stick - this time I have all the hope in the world as my 5AB stuck at 7+1 weeks and still a 4AB frozen. So fingers crossed for you too!!!
Dairy doesn't agree with me really... And I saw a nutritionalist who.told.me to cut it out based on my medical history. (although I cheat with chocolate π€£) I think it also makes imflamation worse. But I wouldn't cut it out unless you have been told to. Xx
