Finally, after 4 rounds of IVF, 3 different clinics (one abroad too and during a global pandemic!), so many injections I had to stop counting, lots and lots of tears and heartache as we lost our first baby…..our amazing daughter has arrived into our lives.
I still can’t believe it. As I hold her I ask myself: is this real or am I dreaming???
It’s flipping real guys!!!! We did it!!! That was the first thing I said to my husband when she was placed on my chest the first time. Staff in hospital didn’t understand why I was crying so much, they asked me if I was ok….clearly mine were tears of joy but also tears of disbelief…I could finally touch her!!!!
Im here to tell you that you are an incredible warrior! IVF is utter crap and has transformed our lives, our behaviours, our mental health…..and while we struggle and think ‘why us’ ‘why do all my friends have babies and I can’t’ ……please DO NOT FORGET everything you are doing to make your dream come true.
Stop and think about this for a minute. The strength you have for walking this lonely journey (which is not so lonely when you have amazing ladies on here to talk to), for fighting when things don’t go as planned, then you cry, you have a glass of wine and try again.
Learn what can be changed, weigh your options, and go with a new plan. Often we have to compromise, prioritise….and there’s so much strength and courage in doing that.
If you feel overwhelmed, pause and recharge. Protect yourself. Love yourself.
YOU are the person that can make your dream come true! Dreams are hard to be transformed into reality, thats why they are called as such.
I wish you all for your dreams to become true, waking up every morning in disbelief asking yourself: is this real? ❤️
