Wine?

Hi ladies I have a question that I would never normally ask, I’m on day 2 of stimms and I’m seeing a friend later. Can I have a few wines or not? I think in the past 12 months I’ve drank 4 times, maybe 5. I’m only asking as I haven’t seen her in forever and would just like to chill the hell out with a few glasses. Diet is pretty clean etc. I looked on the menopur package and don’t see anything. I can’t believe I’m even asking this 😂

Hi Judith, It was my best friends wedding the day after I started stims, I asked the nurse whether I could have one Prosecco/ wine and she said as long as it’s under 5 units a week it isn’t an issue!

I was the same, not a big drinker so not normally an issue.

Good look with your cycle xx

I wasn’t on Menopur but did have a several large glasses of wine one evening just as I was starting stims (1st wedding anniversary!). This was our successful round so doesn’t seem to have hurt. IVF is so hard and a mental as well as physical battle, so if having a few drinks with a good friend is the tonic you need to get you in the right frame of mind then you go for it! Xx

Have no more than 2 small glasses with water in between. You’ll be fine. We’re not made of glass. Depriving yourself too much isn’t good. All in moderation is my moto xx

My successful round (which sadly ended in miscarriage) I had a couple of glasses of red and my nurse said it would do no harm! The other transfers I was t-total and they didn’t stick haha so for my next round I’ll be having a glass or two 😂 xx

It's a good question! I have a wedding shortly before down-regging next month and will have a few drinks I think. With lots of food and water! I rarely drink these days and will avoid it completely when starting my stims x

When I was doing Stims- my husband and I had planned a trip to go away. I asked the nurse the same question and she said “remember we are taking those eggs so no”.She was like “no no and no”. She was like egg quality is important and that this time especially would not be a good idea. So I didn’t! I watched my husband have a drink. And once he found out what the nurse said he was like a parol officer watching to make sure I didn’t get a cocktail at dinner… lol! I know it’s hard but I wouldn’t. Stay encouraged and happy baby dust.

I did have few drinks. I’m now 10 weeks pregnant. My advice is to relax more than anything! Best of luck! Xx
