How many can we expect to make day 5 ?

After multiple failed cycles and some collecting zero eggs .. this cycle we managed to get 10 eggs 6 mature, 6 fertilised.

Day 2 update we have 4 grade As and 2 grade Cs .. what are ppls thoughts in terms of what we might have on day 5?

Hi, you can expect at least 4 to reach blastocyst. If the egg quality is really good, then maybe all 6.

Btw, I have had 2 cycles with almost zero eggs making to blastocyst phase. Could you please tell what you did different to get 10 eggs. My AMH is low at 0.5 and hence I get only 3-4 eggs.

So first cycle we did 300iu menopur on had 3 follies by EC we managed to get 5 but only 3 mature all making day 5 with 2 blasts.

Second cycle did estrogen priming and steroids with 225 gonal f and 150 menoupr - lots of small follies but didn't develop-zero

Third cycle estrogen priming steroids and 325iu pergovaris 3 follies - ER no eggs

Fourth cycle this cycle no steroids, no estrogen priming, took aspirin 75mg, 300 gonal f and 150 menopur and has seemed to do the trick also triggered with 10000 gonasi and 0.5 buserlin

They say anything over 50% of fertilised eggs on day one is a good result. But I've had 0 make it from 5 fertilised from round 1 (gut punch let me tell you!) and 7 from 11 in round 2. Best of luck to you. Your numbers and grades look positive. Xo

Difficult to say really

For us round 1 - 21 eggs collected, 17 fertilised, 2 made it to day 5 blasts

Round 2 - 12 collected, 10 fertilised, 3 made it to day 5 blasts

Round 3 (donor egg round) - 24 collected, 19 fertilised, 3 made it to day 5 blasts

We are now just under 21 weeks from the first transfer from the donor round

I would say all the embryos that have made it to day 5 have been top quality A’s and B’s
