Heartbeat at viability scan

I’m after some advice please.

Had my viability scan today, should be measuring 7 + 5 but only measured 6 + 3 and not a strong heartbeat. Going back next week for another scan but the nurse didn’t seem hopeful.

Has anyone had this happen and was there a positive outcome?

I think it’s going to end in miscarriage?

Hey Fran, I’ve seen a lot of similar posts to yours on this forum- some with positive outcomes. At that stage they’re talking about mere millimetres and often can’t definitely give an accurate measurement that’s why it’s important to go have another scan. Try and not lose all hope. I will keep my fingers crossed for you and your little bean. X

Thank you for your message. The weak heartbeat was the most concerning.

Hopefully it’ll change by next week 🤞

We do have 3 more frozen so at least there is still hope yet x

Hi Franfran. So sorry to hear this, but it could just be a slow starter. Fingers crosed that he/she will have caught up when you are scanned next week. Other than that I couldn't predict what the outcome would be. Thinking of you. Diane
