Talk me down, if you don't mind

I am 1dp5dt (lol). I had some caramel ice cream today. Like a big bowl, it's just so hot out. I also had fruit, eggs, asparagus, pomegranate juice and fish. But also a big bowl of aforementioned ice cream.

Have I done something bad to prevent implantation? Because of the sugar? Or, like, that Chinese medicine thing about not eating cold foods?

Just could use a little talking down, cheers xo

Hiya, I really wouldn’t worry about ice cream. I literally did everything in my power to take 450 supplements (joke!) and eat & drink everything in the world that was meant to help implantation and none of it bloody worked!

I think we put far too much pressure on ourselves to help the process but If I’ve learnt anything from my two failures, it is largely down to the embryo and not down to you.

Eat well, drink well and stay happy as stress is a huge factor for failure so try and “enjoy” (!!!) the gruelling two week wait!!!

Good luck. I really hope it works for you xx

Nah, you’ll be fine! Bean won’t be trying to implant for a couple of days even if it did affect anything, which it won’t. Do what makes you happy in the 2ww

Lol - nobody will talk you down. I got one used my 2WW to treat myself and the first thing I did after my transfer was to walk out of the clinic and straight to the nearest icecream place and had two scoops. I’m all for what makes you happy makes bean happy. I say well done !

My first bfp I ate terribly 🤣 my next 3 transfers all failed and I was so good… I don’t think it matters in all honesty! Xx

Oh lovely don’t be too hard on yourself. Im of work this week and have eaten about 4 ice lollies since transfer! After transfer me and my husband went for a lovely lunch where I over indulged and then to the cinema where I ate far too much popcorn and even shared a bag of our favourite m&m crispies!

Last time I tried my hardest to eat and drink all of the right things, we didn’t get the outcome we wanted. This time I’m telling myself so many people get pregnant naturally without even the slightest consideration for what they’re eating at the time of conception/implantation and it works just fine. Just stay away from the things your generally advised not to eat in pregnancy otherwise eat a healthy balance but treat yourself! X

You will be fine. Also, stay away from Google. It is not your friend during the 2WW.

Oh hun, don’t worry it’s all just talk 😃there’s nothing you can do to prevent implantation, and in the same way nothing to help it! It’s just biology, it happens if it has to…try relax xxx and good luck! 💪🏻

Thank you. The doctor was like "if it's a good embryo, it will implant." Trying to just remember that.

Absolutely, just think our bodies are made for that! The lining will send out a ‘I’m ready’ signal which the embryo will capture…then the lining will ‘assess’ the embryo and if it’s compatible, it will implant (this is what I was explained!) - our bodies make miracles!!!! Xx

Sounds delicious. I live in Brazil and during the wait a colleague of my husband's had been to the UK and brought me back loads of Cadbury's, which I couldn't resist. We got a positive and had a successful pregnancy, but I felt awfully guilty at the scan when Dr told me to avoid too much sugar 🤦‍♀️It's so early, I don't think you need to worry xxx

A practitioner told me to eat by the 80:20 rule when I was driving myself (and my family) nuts with healthy eating. And by the sounds of it your healthy eating is more than 80%! Good luck 💕xx

I would ask myself the same thing but don’t worry, what everyone has said is completely right!! I have been SO good with my previous three transfers. Eaten everything I was supposed to, avoided everything you read about and I had nothing to show for it. This time, ahead of my fresh cycle and transfer, I’ve been way more relaxed and if I’ve wanted a treat (like a magnum lolly), I’ve had one. We put so much pressure on ourselves, but I am starting to believe that if my embryo wants to implant, it will do! 🤞🏻

Best of luck for you 🍀 xx
