DHEA 50mg or 25 mg for fast result

Hi everyone can I take 50 mg 3 times a day for egg improvement instead 25 as I was just told to take and it but I don’t have time to wait 6 weeks, I think I have like 3 weeks only . Also is it safe for under active thyroid ? Unfortunately the nurse refuse to give me details as they say they haven’t got our documents yet and we paid such expensive consultation

If it’s only 3 weeks taking it now won’t make a blind bit of difference - eggs are a bit like sperm and take 3 months to move to a stage that the body might make them a dominant follicle and in fact the whole process starts up to a year before.

Also I wouldn’t take it unless your clinic specifically said you should as it can actually make your fertility worse if you take it when you don’t need to

Oh my gosh then I’m so confused . I have been taking Vitabiotics for full year plus other pills like q10, zink, folic acid, primrose oil, vit c and healthy diet but my partner has very big problem with his sperm. On top he had penile fracture two years ago and surgery and he has like two drops or even nothing coming. 10 years no baby plus only 14% motility very very low count . Doctor said that’s huge problem

Ivfgotadream makes some valid points in their post - any vitamins really need to be in the system for at least 3 months!!

I didn’t take DHEA but I did use COQ10 as that is meant to assist with egg quality - but again took it for three months

Speak to your clinician if they recommend it, you can start taking the recommended dose now, but realistically planning on any possible improvement in round 2

Hi Babycometrue, Please be careful with DHEA. Only take it if you have had your levels tested and your testosterone. It can do more harm than good if not taken properly.It does take about 3 months for any supplements to be beneficial to you and 8 weeks for DHEA.

Yes, I take 50x 3 day. But you have to take 6 weeks for it to work!
