Evening All,

Just wanted to check with you guys, those of you who have used Ovaleap do you prime the needle after the first use? I’m a little confused, the nurse told me I didn’t need to and the video I watched said the same but I’ve flicked through the manual that came with the pen tonight and it said to do it each time. Today was my 3rd dose and I only primed the first time. Worrying I’ve been doing it wrong now.

Any advice welcome x

I only ever primed when I used a new cartridge for the first time, and even then if you forget to do that it isn't the end of the world. If you are using the same cartridge and just changing the needle then no need to prime each time

So if you have to change the cartridge then prime the needle with just one click of the pen the 1st time otherwise, if it is the same cartridge just change the needle but no need to prime. Good luck!!

Thank you, really appreciate you coming back to me. On my first go when I added the needle a little drop of fluid came through, they explained this was it being primed so didn’t do any clicks? Does that sound right? Xx

Yep! If it automatically has a little bead of fluid then it has primed itself 😊🤞 (saves you a job at least!) x

I primed the first time and then realised that the clinic had prescribed me the exact amount for 12 days of stims. I panicked then that I had wasted some and that if I needed 12 days I wouldn't have enough. I stopped priming and luckily only needed 10 days worth! It worked for me so it seems like you don't need to worry about priming it every time.
