Crazytown and Evaporation Line Question

***Sensitive*** Hi ladies! So I am going crazy in my tww. Doing all the wrong things in regards to testing early. My FET was Monday May 3 and OTD is the 12th. So I am 4 days post transfer I think. I randomly decided to POAS as my tests arrived from Amazon lol. It was around 10AMish and not my first urine. Waited a minute or two and I got a negative. Then, it couldn't have been more than 20ish minutes after that, I second guessed myself and looked again. Pulled the stick out of the garbage and all lol. I think I see a faint line. Could this just be an evaporation line though? Not sure how long it takes for an evaporation line to appear. I googled evaporation line which they say are usually colorless? 🤦🏻‍♀️I have officially entered the tww crazytown I think! I know I should just test again tomorrow morning with first urine, but like I said crazy town!

I’m not sure, I’ve always used the clear blue early and digital testing sticks. But never tested early always on the day or the day after they’ve said to.

I think to keep you sane don’t test until test day. That way there is no mistaking the result

Thanks Running - I went down a rabbit hole for sure! It was a first response test.

There is definitely a line there. I would take it one day at a time but it's looking good :)Fingers crossed it keeps getting stronger. They do say that anything after the 10 minute mark isn't reliable so try and stay calm for the moment!

Yeah for sure. Thank you. I'll try again tomorrow morning probably. Gotta say at least even an evaporation line gives me a little more hope than I had earlier 🤞

I've used countless FRERs and they seem to be the most sensitive to me. They can pick up 6mIU which is a reaaaaally low amount of HCG. So I trust them much more than any other test. xx

Ok cool. That is what I used after reading up here. I have never ever ever had any positive test so I am really hoping to have that moment. That's probably silly, but when it comes so easy to everyone around you...

I think everyone on here understands completely how you feel! Everything crossed for you hun x

Hi could I ask you a question on the first response tests? I have been using the early response to test (it was a three pack) The only other tests I have from first response are two digitals (they came in a 2 pack with an early response) and also a 2 pack of fast results. What's the difference with all three of these and should I not use the fast response or digital cause it may not read what the early response tests are picking up. Then I would just get myself down which does nothing good. Thanks!

Millbanks in reply toMelissaS6

I think the digital ones can drive you crazy as they aren’t as accurate. I would just wait a couple of days and use another FRER xx

MelissaS6 profile image
MelissaS6 in reply toMillbanks

Ok thanks - the first response rapid results also not really accurate?

Millbanks profile image
Millbanks in reply toMelissaS6

It’s more that you’ll start comparing and it’ll drive you mad. If you’re testing with one and it’s not a line as strong as another then you’ll worry. But it might just be that it’s not as sensitive xx

MelissaS6 profile image
MelissaS6 in reply toMillbanks

Haha yes that is what I am afraid of. Probably should just leave it alone till OTD!

Hey, I also had my transfer Monday (Frozen) & have done the exact same thing with very similar result 🤣keep me updated with your money test please! Wishing you all the luck! Xxxxx

MelissaS6 profile image
MelissaS6 in reply toE2019

Oh wow! Similar real thin line? Did you wait the right amount of time to read the test? I'm pretty sure I thought it was negative and threw it away before waiting the full 3 minutes. But I also checked it again after 10 minutes. It's definitely a pink line but thinner than the other line so could be evaporation. I certainly will test more carefully next time. Wishing you so much luck too!

I waited 3 mins & could see a very thin line straight away.. but I have been pregnant before & that also happened when I tested early, still driving me nuts though lol. Fingers crossed for your next test! Xx

MelissaS6 in reply toE2019

Congratulations then! That is a definite positive no? Typically the thin pale line leads to a positive for you in the past? It is making me nuts too!

Hi both MelissaS6 E2019 I also had my FET on Monday. I had it in Denmark - long story! - and am now back in the UK self-isolating, which is driving me a bit nuts. I also caved on day 4 with a FRET but it was negative negative. Yesterday I got a friend to cycle over and drop off a clear blue test from the pharmacy - both were negative but had extremely faint colourless lines after the timeframe, which I understand to be evaporation lines. Today the ones I ordered off amazon arrived (clear blue AND FRET) - I tested again with clear blue and got a thin blue streak (after about 20mins) that I assume is also an evaporation line but it's darker and more visible that the ones from yesterday...so maybe it's a faint +ve? The FRET is negative negative again. It sounds like yours are both darkening by the day, yup? It's such a relief to have found some pple going through the same thing at the same time!

ps: my FRET was not on my first morning urine today, but at 5pm after the amazon delivery guy finally arrived

Hi - it's so hard to wait for the official test isn't it! I think morning is the best time to test. I have only used the First Response Early results in the am. I am afraid to try the digital. I am hoping for you! Is your test on Wednesday too?

The Danes advise a home pregnancy test 14 days after transfer, which seems a bit ridiculous eg could miss a chemical pregnancy.. I’m negative on FRER on first urine this morning. Had some mild cramps on the weekend (days 5 and 6 post transfer) which makes me wonder if it’s a possible late implantation. The inconsistency of information out there is quite baffling!! How are you going?

Hey Ladies! How’re you both doing?

MelissaS6 profile image
MelissaS6 in reply toE2019

Hi thank you for thinking to check in. Doing well. OTD was today and my HCG is 312 at 9dpo so I think that’s pretty good. I go back in two days for another blood test check. How are you?

Hi Melissa- sorry to throw a spanner in the works.. but I noticed you said you purchased from Amazon. Just have a check of your seller reviews, as I was about to purchase from there once and read some reports of fake tests. Some false positives, some false negatives so keep trying and maybe throw in testing with a different brand. Saying that I have never had an evaporation line with any of the many negatives I’ve had so I think the line is promising 🙏xx

MelissaS6 in reply toMaui2020

Wow thanks for the heads up! Amazon can be the worst! I try not to shop there as much as I can and support more local businesses. I'll be sure and check out the seller. I do also have some digital tests from First Response from my pharmacy but figured they would not be as sensitive this early on. They are in that two pack promoted as a follow up test. Good to know

Maui2020 profile image
Maui2020 in reply toMelissaS6

I know sometimes you can’t avoid Amazon pure convenience. Hard to believe people produce fake pregnancy tests!! But good to be aware and it may just be you’re testing very early xx

MelissaS6 profile image
MelissaS6 in reply toMaui2020

Yeah if all this isn't hard enough! The seller was Amazon.com services so not sure if that is good or bad! Interestingly the first review was a person who had made dilutions with leftover Novarel HCG to take the test at different levels. Gave a complete scientific analysis. Although I have heard the reviews can also be fakes so prob can't fully trust that either.

Also mine was on first response though. First response are the best of the bunch xx

My 4DP5DT started like that and continued to darken. Don't use the digital ones they pick up the teeniest amount of Hcg which can often be too little to be viable pregnancy at the start (found this out through experience). Those cheaper ones don't often pick up until stronger hcg which is better if you think about it really. You can Use the how many weeks clearblue at OTD and hopefully strong Hcg should show 2-3. I tested first urine daily and it kept me sane for sure with amazon tests. The waiting game wasn't for me!! Best of luck ❤️ Ps I'm 13wks 3 days now 🙏🏼 xx good luck ☘

Oh congratulations on your pregnancy! It is so wonderful to hear success stories! Thanks for the tips. I am definitely scared of the digital giving me a no and making me doubt my pink lines. (of which I got a slightly darker line today!) I agree with the early testing. It makes me feel more in control and is a good way of taking it day by day. I am so nervous for my official test day!

in reply toMelissaS6

Awww bless ❤️🤗 I heat ya its hurdle after hurdle isn't it!!! X

That’s a line!!! Pretty much exactly what my 4dp5dt looked like and I’m now 16 weeks 😊

I used FRER too btw!

I would say that’s a line. Usually FRER test are stark white if nothing is detected! Good luck 😉 but I think positive xxx
