I just wanted to come on here and get opinions from like minded women going through the same as me!
My long story short is that I have had two rounds of ivf, all but 4 out of 5 transfers gave a BFP but all ended in miscarriage of some sort (one at 11 weeks, one at 7 weeks and 2 chemicals). Fast forward to now and I am going to a new clinic to try one more round. Hopefully that will be in the summer (July/August).
I have just got my covid vaccine letter to get the jab on Friday and I am in two minds. My logical brain along with all the research I have read over the weekend as well as talking to bro (pharmacist), sis in law (doc) and sis in law (public health Wales) say it’s absolutely fine but there is a little part of me that is worried it could effect my last round.
I would love to know what people is the same position as me think??
Thanks and sorry for long post!!!

I am also currently in IVF treatment. I have already taken the first dose of the vaccine and will be taking the second dose about a week before my last round of IVF.
I did consult with my doctor and I was told that I could have the vaccine even during stims. I just had to ensure it was just not around egg collection. This topic has been covered in previous posts and I noted that IVF clinics have different policies so worth checking with your clinic if you decide to go for it.
I think the main question is why you are worried about it affecting your chances and perhaps addressing that. Before I got the jab, I did slightly hesitate because of the fertility myths. I wondered just how true it was but when I read that in a clinical trial, about 23 women fell pregnant after the jab, that immediately allayed my fears.
I have always been quite pro vaccine though as I always thought the benefits outweighed the risks. The experts say that your immunity can be passed to your unborn child so that it is another pro in my book. 🙂
Good luck with your journey, I know what it is like not to want to do anything to jeopardise your chances of getting pregnant.
Thank you so much for taking the time to reply. I like you am very pro vaccine. My clinic said they go with gov guidelines but it was a personal choice. I think I have made my mind up to have it after researching over the weekend. It’s just that niggle of them saying at the beginning that it could affect fertility - this is prob my last round and would hate it to affect the number of eggs/embryos as I am already 37 and worried about this anyway because of my age 😬! Anyway thank you for taking the time to reply. Good luck with you round xxx
I felt really really rough after mine, for a good week. First 24 hours like I had full blown covid, next couple of days constant BAD headaches, and a full week of feeling like I was recovering from a bad virus. So that all gives me the impression it’s quite hard on your body - so I would get it ASAP so that you have a long stretch of feeling well again before your round!
I definitely think it’s worth getting. I had previously been worried about fertility, but so many are getting pregnant since having it.
