I’m so sorry to hear about your bfn 😔 it’s not easy, especially on your first cycle when you’re full of hope. Unfortunately the progesterone will stop you having a period so that’s not a true sign either way. I know it’s heartbreaking at the moment but it will get easier and you will get the strength to go again. We put so much pressure on ourselves for ivf to work first time but in reality it often takes a few goes. Fingers crossed for your next one. Sending love xx
Hey hun,I’m so sorry you didn’t get your positive. It’s such a horrible process that really drains you. I really hope your result changes in the next 3 days. You just take the time to cry it out and then have a sit down with the doctors to figure out what to do next.
We’re now on our 5th Icsi cycle and what helps me is knowing that it HAS to work for us eventually. Eventually we will get a good embryo and it will take and it’ll be our miracle baby. It’s just a matter of time. The set backs don’t own you, you just have to stay positive and have hope it’ll work.
A friend of mine had 22 failed transfers and now has a beautiful baby girl (conceived naturally!). And for some women ivf works on the first try! Some have multiple Ivf successes! Honestly I believe you can only do so much and the rest is down to luck so don’t put too much pressure on yourself, just take each day, each milestone, as it comes.
Some things that we’ve figured out along this journey that may or may not help you:
- my progesterone levels were low which lead to breakthrough bleeding - so we’ve added in Lubion for extra support.
- we did karyotype testing and found a chromosomal translocation, so now freeze and Pgd test our embryos.
- Proxeed works wonders for sperm count and quality.
We’re all here and understand what you’re going through, it’s ok to feel broken but you will heal ❤️❤️
So sorry to hear that. I know that distressing feeling from the transfer of two blastocysts I had in January which didn't take. I have just been googling implantation and when to test as I am currently in my 2WW for my third cycle and I read that while a pregnancy test should be accurate at 11 days, it's more likely to be accurate at 12 to 14 days. I don't know if you had a Day 2 or a Day 5 transfer but either way, I would test for a few more days before accepting the negative myself. I continued with the progesterone and did this last time just to be sure. Xx
So sorry EmRob. It does feel so scary. I know that feeling well. You will get through it after some self care and time to digest it, with plenty of support. Big hugs. When your ready you can make a plan about next steps. A plan always helps me. Xxx
