I had three failed cycles, as a result I had 5 abnormal embryos and 3 untested ones.. Dont know what to do with those 3...should I leave them and jump to donor eggs?
Should I try for natural pregnancy at 43? I was not allowed to try last year because of my molar pregnancy..After febuary I would be fine but at higher risk for another molar as well (scared to do chemo again), thats why IVF was my last resort!
Also anyone could advise of any reliable clinic which ship frozen eggs to Australia?
I am happy to pay to a donor but is illegal in australia, so I need to look for options overseas
Any help would be appreciated Xx

Hey Fay, you could try for another pregnancy when you have finished your follow up. A second molar pregnancy is rare, around 1% but due to your age the odds are increased a bit. I'm not sure what the law is for putting your untested embryos back....can tou put 3 back and if it doesnt work try donor eggs? This of course all takes time which is frustrating. I'm 43 and pregnant with DE twins. We went to Athens for treatment and would be happy to share details if you want me to? I'm not sure how travelling through covid works, I know Australia are pretty strict.xx
Please share your information. However not sure when I can fly out. We can buy frozen eggs but they are very expensive 6 eggs for $30000. And you won’t know if any would reach blastocyst! I feel helpless
Ouch, that is not cheap and for frozen eggs too.....eeek! Much cheaper in Athens....Ive PM' you. More than happy to answer any questions you have here or via PM.xx
I’m scared .. what if it’s Down syndrome and I have to do d and c ..my uterus would not afford another one😏 I will be thinking over holidays.. anyway the clinics are closedIs very risky decision! In one hand I’m sad to give up my eggs in other hand I don’t want to have genetic issues .
That risk cannot be ruled out by PGS testing. The PGS cannot guaranty your embryos have the correct number of chromosomes. The test is done on the placenta cells not the embryo cells. There can be a difference between the two. And the PGS is not 100% accurate in any event. The same risk will apply to your donor embryo. Good luck with whatever you decide xx
Of course it can! The sample of cells they take from the embryo is big enough to cover the inner mass cell (the baby) and the tropechodermy ( the future placenta). PGS is the only way to determine whether an embryo is normal or not and avoid a miscarriage!
Hey Fay, how old were you when the 3 remaining embryos were created? Are they day 5? You might still have a chance of success with those and if not could move onto donor eggs knowing you gave them a shot? Best of luck xx
You never know, the fact you made embryos is a good sign! As Cinderella said, you could try a FET where you put them all in (if they let you) and then move on to donor eggs if that doesn’t work? Best of luck! Xx
I’m only worried if it leads to miscarriage I may loose the chance to become mum forever.. I’m thinking to try for donor egg first and for last resort I try those untested embryos.. it’s hard to give up my eggs ... I’m still undecided Thanks for your idea and support xxx
