Hi all, we’ve just finished our 3rd cycle of ivf/icsi and need help with what decision to make next.
Our first two rounds didn’t produce any embryos at all. After our 2nd round my partner was diagnosed with low motility and mild dna fragmentation, and was advised to take Proxeed for at least 3 months.
So after our 3rd cycle we managed to make two top quality embryos. One was put back on day 3 but didn’t take. The other blast was frozen on day 5.
Now we need to make the decision of whether to go for a 4th round now we know we can make embryos, or whether to do a FET with the one we’ve got.
I’m the tail end if 42, I have a large ovarian reserve apparently, but there’s always the issue with egg quality and age.
Would appreciate your opinions on what decision to make. X

Hey there. You have a day 5 blastocyst frostie, that sounds fantastic! Obviously all your decision but sounds like giving an FET a go would be great move. I’ve done Mine naturally in the past, so all a very relaxed process in comparison to a full cycle. And worst case scenario it would only set you back 2 months. Best case you would get your BFP without the added rollercoaster. Good luck!
Thanks Maui, I’m just thinking that while we’re still able to make embryos, ie before I get older, it would be a good idea to do another round to see if we get more embryos as backup or possibly a future sibling. Have no idea about genetic issues as haven’t done pgs testing. It’s just so expensive and traumatic.
I see what you mean. This may not be the most practical response, but my latest cycle was not pleasant mainly due to the pressure and anxiety I felt. At times I was a wreck just overthinking and worrying. So do what ever brings you the most peace of mind. It is expensive but maybe not so traumatic knowing you have the extra embryos. Wish you lots of luck x
