I’ve been TTC to 2 1/2 years. I managed to get naturally pregnant after about 8 months the 1st time but it ended with a miscarriage. Then struggled again to get pregnant and docs said I needed to wait a year until after miscarriage to be considered for IVF. A year was March but then Covid happened. I’ve had all the blood tests, scans, X-rays, swabs etc and I just got the go ahead to go to the clinic that I wanted for IVF....and then my period was late and after 3 tests I’m 100% pregnant. And now I’m terrified! It’s such a weird feeling, all I wanted was to be pregnant but now I’m just worried what happens if I have another miscarriage? Does that mean I have to start again from scratch and wait another year for IVF? I know I shouldn’t think that way but I was so devastated the 1st time that I need to know the answer to my ‘what if’ question

Pregnant and worried
Hi Moviemad. Many congratulations on your pregnancy! Wonderful that you didnt had to gp through ivf. Is it possible to go to your go and ask to be referred to the early pregnancy unit ao they can run some tests for you given your history if miscarriages? You can also perhaps consult a private ob&gyn to support you in the pregnancy? This is something i consider if i ever get pregnant xx
Thank you! I’m a little too scared to tell my docs yet I might wait a week or 2 to let in sink in and they maybe ask for an 8 week scan as that’s when I had trouble last time
Hi Moviemad. Of course you are terrified, you still have memories of the little one you lost previously, so no wonder you're worried. But hey, you are pregnant, so just look forward to your first scan, which should reassure you greatly. Carry on with your Folic Acid and Vitamin D and a good sensible diet. Have a rest too when you can and keep busy in between. Thinking of you. Diane
