Thanks for sharing. Very comprehensive stats which I haven't seen before. The links within the article are also informative (miscarriage rates per week for women who are 40+).
I'm at a NHS clinic and they ask for you to do a home pregnancy test and then a scan at 5 weeks. There is no mention of HCG. I don't see why? Maybe I can find somewhere that I can get a private HCG or one online?

You are very welcome i had a private hcg test done at crgh in london. I was registered with them but they might offer it to anyone. I am pretty sure you can get this online since it is a very standard test and lots of women want it for reassurance.
I found it very helpful to have that knowledge, being over 40 and having had a previous early miscarriage. Now 24 weeks :))
Good luck!
I remember finding this article over a year ago when I had my first ever bfp. The stats were true in my case. My first beta was quite low, it did double but the pregnancy ended with blighted ovum.
With my current pregnancy the hcg was high and so far so good so I’m hoping it’ll work out. So yeah, anyway, it’s a good article with accurate stats and sources.
