We’ve just had a phone call with the doctor to discuss husbands recent sperm sample, he said although the count has increased the morphology is still at 0. And 100% of the sperm were abnormal. What does this mean for us now? Had a cry and now trying to pull ourselves together. Anyone had any experiences or advice to give us on what to do next. X

Hi lovely. Stay strong, it’s very rare that you see people with sperm issues that can’t be much improved. It would be worth seeing a good urologist unless you did this already? Dr Ramsay in London is one of the very best. My husband had higher than desirable levels of dna fragmentation and we found that he had e-coli infection in his sperm so we both had antibiotics simultaneously, and he took antioxidants and was strict for 3 months (barely any alcohol, no saunas/steams/spa, loose cotton boxers, no cycling) and we got much better samples xx
Hi Orla, my husband has low morphology (other parameters normal). Did Dr Ramsay recommend any specific supplement to you? or something else? I am reading some people take impryl but then need to stop with some other things (not sure which). My husband currently takes vitamin D3, DHA, Vitamin C, Acetyl carnitine and multi vitamin Pro creation.
Hey, no mr Ramsay didn’t, but only because we already had him on a self designed mega-regime. We had zinc, l-arginine, ubiquinol, selenium and wheatgrass I think on top of that. Xx
Hi, I know it's really hard when you get the results but like Orla9298 has said most men's problems can be fixed so try not to worry too much. My partner had terrible DNA fragmentation results along with low count and motility and after 3-6 months on a few really good supplements, vitamins, no alcohol etc things drastically improved and we had success.
Aww darling , I'm so sorry . Can I ask if your hubby is taking any supplements?
My husband had terrible sperm! I got him on proceive max, high dose vit c 1000mg, black maca, q10 200mg, extra b12, dha, royal jelly, l-arginine, fenugreek
Also no deodorant unless unscented!
Acupuncture is also recommended to improve sperm if you haven't tried it.
He hated me and didnt really believe any of it would work but things turned around we're pregnant for the first time in a couple of years! 🤞
Don’t worry - my partner was 0% - first round of ICSI worked and I’m 11 weeks tomorrow 😊 (and one in the freezer) he cut back on alcohol in the 3 months before and none in the month before, was careful about not getting too hot, and took omega 3/6/9, Wellman and a couple of coq10 per day. Drs and nurses didn’t seem too worried about it! Just said they’d do ICSI to be on the safe side x
Hi Chloe, sorry you find yourself on this difficult journey. My husband has Azoospermia (no sperm in ejaculate) due to an Undescended testicle which was not corrected until too late. We were devastated with the diagnosis. We went to New York 10 years ago to see Dr Schlegel (world renowned urologist) who performed micro tese, sadly no sperm were found. Again we were devastated.
Our only option was donor sperm. A doctor suggested familial donation and following ethical counselling and much discussion, my husbands brother kindly donated sperm. We now have a child who is fully aware of their genetics and family history.
