Beta HCG results

Hi all,

I’ve gone into complete panic mode. I had positive sticks since 6dp5dt, the lines seemed to get alittle stronger over the next few days but I changed brand so not so obvious as the colour changed!

Had my beta this morning which is 9dp5dt and the result was 71. Nurse said this was ok and that they ordinarily like to test on day 11 (even tho I was given this date). She hasn’t suggested further bloods to check its doubling and happily booked me in for 7 week scan. She did say I can have more bloods if it’ll make me feel better.

I know there’s no hard and fast rules with the beta results and I think 9dp is fairly early but I can’t help but feel it’s on the low side and Instead of being happy I’m in full worry panic mode much to my husbands disbelief!

I’m really hoping you guys might know some things to help me figure this out! I’ll take anything!

Just keep using cheapo test strips every morning. You'll soon see if lines are getting darker. I've had so many chemicals now, I know exactly when it's gone because the lines just stay pale. Test strips are always the best indicators. X

Oh ok this is great thank you. I shall get some and just have some faith. Thank you so much and I’m so sorry you’ve had chemical pregnancies. I seem to have developed an absolute fear for one. You’re so strong and one hell of a fighter for going through them x

I would go for another blood on day 11. It will give you peace of mind going forward. Try not to worry about the numbers at the moment, the most important thing is that its rising correctly!xx

This I shall thank you! I tried to fight through with ‘it’ll be ok’ but you’re very right and it will put my mind at ease. Hope you’re still doing well with your cargo! Thank you for still being about to impart your wisdom!! x

Hey, sorry your having this worry my clinic always advise to test on day 12 and go in for bloods the following week. My clinic have been great from first pregnancy through to this one - it really shocks me to hear of the lack of testing or early test advisers they tell people to do. I hope it all works out for you keeping everything crossed xxx

Thank you! Yes my husband has expressed how much he wished the blood test had been a few days later like most clinics so I didn’t go down this rabbit hole. He also wishes they didn’t tell me the number so I could just enjoy it and be in blissful ignorance 😂 Sometimes knowing too much isn’t a good thing I guess!

Go for another blood test! I had two a week apart, it was so reassuring to see the numbers increase! I had them at 12 days & 19 days post transfer. But they should have been 10 & 17 days but these fell on a Saturday when it’s impossible to get a blood test so I had to wait until the Monday. Best of luck Xx

Hi lovely. Definitely do another blood test. Many girls will kill for a blood test as so many clinics dont offer them. And since she offered it take it ! Xx
