Good morning

I’ve been thinking lots of PGS testing but would it be just as good to do the DNA fragmentation first

I think these are testing really different things - my understanding is that PGS testing is testing specific embryos that you're thinking of transferring. DNA fragmentation tests would only give you a picture of the overall health of the male partner's sperm and wouldn't help you work out between a batch of embryos which ones have the best chance.

I don't know if we're typical of people with serious DNA fragmentation problems, but we've never managed to get more than one embryo per round to survive to transfer, so we would never need to do the PGS testing as we have no choice of which embryos to use! If we can get one, we're lucky.

Hi Brassimc. DNA fragmentation testing is usually reserved for men with certain problems with their sperm. The PGS Is for screening for possible inherited conditions, so they are different. You could have a look at the advice given by the HFEA hfea.gov.uk about treatment add-ons. That might help. Good luck! Diane
