Feeling a bit upset. In there middle of an IVF cycle, had 6 eggs collected two days ago, two fertilized. The doctor told me they were expecting to collect more given the number of follicles and they even had to flush some follicles and they don’t know why. Back in Feb I had done a successful round on a similar protocol, ended up with two top quality embryos, both failed to implant though. I had started to take all the supplements and attributed the successful cycle to that too. This time I continued with all the supplements, healthy diet, exercise, acupuncture and ended up with a worse outcome than in Feb. Has anyone had a similar experience? Thanks in advance.

Cycle not as successful as expected
I'm in the middle of a really similar situation - in Feb we did a round where three eggs fertilised, this time on a similar protocol only one egg fertilised despite us having been on a super-healthy diet with tons of supplements for the last 4 months. Frankly we did a lot better when we were still eating pizza on Friday nights and the occasional chocolate bar!! So frustrating when you've been working really hard xx
I have no answers but just want to send solidarity & hugs. It’s just so shitty!
We’re in midst of ICSI cycle. It’s our 3rd.
All our rounds have been SO different.
1st - 11 eggs, 8 fertilised, x5 average to poor blastocysts, 2 transferred D5, 1 stuck & live birth, none to freeze
2nd - 7 eggs, 2 fertilised, both transferred day 3, BFN
3rd - 5 eggs and advised to do ICSI, waiting for dreaded phonecall tomorrow 😱
We did similar protocols for all 3 although 1st was a long protocol and other 2 were short
My AMH is lower since 1st round and I’m now 41
It feels like doing the lottery. All we can do is our best to stay healthy and keep hope. Easier said than done though! Xx
Thank you for your comments, it’s somehow comforting to hear that Im not alone in this. There is not one supplement that I did not take! I’m starting to agree that yes this is down to pure luck.
Hello Sofiaa,
I've had my egg collection in March and even though had many follicles and everything was ok ended with 6 eggs only and 2 fertilised embryos which made me very upset and put me down. Ended getting pregnant after one transfer and having a normal life. I'm 35 years old and 32 weeks pregnant thanx God.
Wish you all the best xx
Thanks, that is quite reassuring although I’m not expecting much from this round. I’m 39 and in my fourth attempt. The doctor’s face of disappointment when he told me they were expecting to collect more eggs kind of set the tone... Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy 😊
Hi Sofia, i dont have an answer but just keep going. Im also 39 with low amh. Ve had 3 cycles and so far no luck as i am a poor reaponder to the drugs. In between my ivf cycles i have been pregnant naturally twice but miscarried. Recently i have started focusing on my cycle and hormones. Trying to regulate my cycle naturally and see if that helps. Just keep going my love so you have no regrets. I pray god blesses all us women with our little ones that we all yearn so much xx
