Prostap side effects

Hi all,

So we finally got the go ahead to start down regulation last Thursday.. took me by surprise as really wasn’t expecting it to happen so soon. I had my nurses appointment and she told me we’ll be starting that same day eeek 😬 it’s all good but just wasn’t expecting it to happen so soon!

Anyway, it’s now almost 1 week since the Prostap injection, I’ve felt ok up until today where my mood has just plummeted, and so so tired.

Is this a normal response to the injection?? And if so, does it get any easier?! I have to have another one on the 5th November and then 2 weeks later start stims.. so quite a bit longer to go yet.

Urghh, this baby making business is not for the faint hearted that’s for sure.

Hope everyone is keeping well.

Thanks x

Yes, its completely normal unfortunately! Its putting you into the menopause so headaches, tiredness, low mood, etc. It pretty much feels like a hangover without the joy of a party! Drink plenty to help with headaches and try to get plenty of sleep. I found it got easier when I started the next lot of meds. Hang on in there, its pretty crap as you say!!xx

Thanks for getting back to me.. glad to hear it’s all pretty normal in terms of side effects. No headaches yet, touchwood! Yep I think sleep and water will become good friends throughout this. I’m hoping it’s just a bad day and will get easier 🤞 x

I am not doing down regulation - so on a different protocol, but will be starting my stims around the same time you are in November - if everything goes well. Hoping side effects won’t be too bad from the treatment 🤞

Anyways - be kind to yourself and hopefully the side effects will ease a little for you! Wishing you all the best for your cycle!!! 🤞🥰

Thanks for your reply :)

Taking every day as it comes for now, as my mood is changing as fast as the weather... my poor husband!

Good luck with your cycle and yes fingers crossed for no (or at least not too bad) side effects. I remember from my previous cycles the side effects were always much worse for me from the down regulation drugs than the actual stims injections so hopefully it will be the same for you! x
