Ready to give up

Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone had and success from stories like this. I have just completed my 3rd round of Icsi and always seem to get the same results. Have collected between 8-16 eggs each round, injected 7-14 per round and only one has fertilised per round. The first two rounds they put the embryo back in but they never implanted last time was a 8cell Agrade 3 day transfer and still no such luck. We recently moved interstate and tried a different clinic and have received the same result. They want to transfer Monday which will be day 3. I’m just ready to give up as I can’t see it working if it never has before... I would love to hear some success stories from people in similar situation if there are any.

Thanks

Hi Shad,

How are you getting on? So sorry to hear about your losses from the first two rounds.

I've done 5 rounds of ICSI but never actually got to transfer stage so I'm not an expert on implantation (I'm 44 so we have moved to double donor now).

Our clinic only transferred at Day 5 stage which at least means they had time to see the embryos develop, although it was very hard for us at the time. We got some to Day 5 which looked v good but then failed PGS testing. They can guess from watching over the 5 days what is causing the failures - is the "battery" from the sperm running out on Day 4/5? This happened to us with a no. of ours and we switched to donor sperm for our 5th ICSI. Since I was 44 by then we guessed that egg quality was a factor and moved to donor egg too.

The other possibility is that something is preventing implantation I suppose. I have been tested for Natural Killer Cells which would have prevented implantation and have since been treated with mushrooms (they can also treat with steroids/ intralipids). If you are able to do a fourth round, I wonder if you could move to a clinic which might transfer at Day 5?

Or at least one that would check out all possibilities before trying another cycle (e.g. immune issues; thyroid issues etc.)

Really hope things change for you very soon. xxx
