Still didnt get my period and i did preg test this morning said negative (day 12) today. Is there any way a preg test would be false and not pick it up? It says on the test must only take the test if youre a week late getting period so how will it be accurate?

Hi, so sorry to hear this it’s such a tough journey. Are you on progesterone after your transfer? It’s possible to get a false negative but some people’s periods are delayed by the medication that’s taken for the transfer. Did you test first thing this morning? I’m not sure why the test says that as most can pick up on the day of your missed period. Can you get an early detection one that would be more accurate? xx
I stopped taking progesterone yesterday and obviousky none today. By now i should have got it i know my body. Plus the cramps now are driving me nuts i feel period coming so much but its not!! Now i have hope again..this is crazy lol cried all morning from the negative but somethings off. And i drank half a bottle of wine last night cuz of anxiety so if i am preg my baby got drunk too 🤣🤣🤣
Do you mind me asking why you stopped it before your test? With my clinic you have to continue until your test and then speak to the clinic. On my last failed cycle it took a couple of days for me to bleed. I’d see how you get on over the next few days and then test again. You could always ask your clinic if they could do a blood test to give you confirmation one way or other? I know you’re stressed but I’d also stay off the wine until you know for certain one way or other? x
Oh god yeh the wine was a huge mistake. And with regards to stopping the progesterone im a huge dick for doing that i was just convinced i wasnt pregnant and went on the self destructive and coulddnt bare another negative result again so i called it myself to avoid emotional failure or something. My doctor would kill me if he knew i came off it. I just took another progesterone now its okay i took my last one around 2am lol i will take another preg test tomorrow and if i still dont get my period ill go get the blood test tuesday. (Here is a national holiday tomorrow so no clinics r open)
I can totally understand how you could have convinced yourself it was over it’s so hard! Definitely try and get a blood test to put your mind at ease - last time mine failed my test was weird and even though I knew it was negative I had a blood test which sadly confirmed it. It’s so hard xx
