Hi there I am due to start my first Icsi cycle at the end of this month and Transfer of frozen donor eggs next month and as the lovely people on this site gave me the confidence to give it a try I thought it would be nice to share the process with people going through the same thing.
Have my first injection on 22nd Sep and then its meds galore before my final scan on 23rd Oct and my transfer week beginning 26th Oct. Feeling a mixture of apprehension and excitement at mo and if anyone else in same position get in touch.
Thanks

Exciting news. I am on my third cycle but second egg collection. Start injections on the 26th with egg collection booked for 9th October (all being well).
Thanks for your reply and best of luck with your egg collection. We have ordered our donor eggs and will be told transfer date once have had final scan so keeping fingers crossed that injection and meds work to prepare me as best I can be. I’m a little anxious about how the meds will affect me as I know the side effects can be a challenge but willing to face that if it will get us the family we’ve always dreamed of. How are you feeling? X
Hi, I'm also starting my injections in the next few weeks. I know the worries will start to creep in the closer it gets, but right now I'm so excited! 😁 This is my second cycle this year, but due to covid I've had a bit of a wait in between cycles so I'm feeling very ready to start! Best of luck to you with your cycle 🤞 xxx
I always get a bit anxious just before but that is because it means so much. Thought the needles would be the hardest thing (bit of a phobia) but now i just do them. I really hope everyone’s cycle goes smoothly! Love and hugs 💖 xxx
My husband administered it yesterday (day 1). I really didn’t feel like I would be able to do it. Also, it was nice to start off together.
Today, due to timings and husbands work this morning, I had to do it on my own, was feeling a bit nervous about it but managed ok. I think it helped that last night i practised just inserting a needle and got comfortable ish with that.
Side effects haven’t really surfaced yet. I had a slight stomach cramp type feeling yesterday for about a minute.
Still feeling pretty chuffed to just be moving forward. Let’s see what happens eh...
Hi there glad your injections have started well and your very brave doing your own. I was told the go had to to mine so I’m off there on Tuesday for my first one.
Keep me posted on your progress and have a good weekend x
Still on the down reg injection Suprecur and not really had any side effects from it. Not sure if that’s because I have been drinking lots of water, ginger tea or the acupuncture.
Period started last night, pain was a bit more that usual but not massively. Felt quite drained today, which is normal during for me during this part of my menstrual cycle. It did feel quite good to reach this next point.
Hopefully I’ll be able to get a scan early next week and then starts the stimulation drugs.
Hi there did you get a scan this week and how are you doing? I’m counting down the days to my last period before I go onto my next meds before my final scan. In one way it’s going quickly but in another way it’s really dragging! X
Yes got a scan last weds and started stimulation injections Saturday night. Have been told to still keep taking Suprecur the down reg drug but a lower dose.
Got a blood test to check my Oestradiol levels this weds. Also have some scans and potential egg collection pencilled in for following week.
Haven’t experienced any major side effects yet, the worst was a headache/ migraine from when my period started which lasted about 4 days. A 2 day headache is common around my menstrual cycle anyway.
I know what you mean about it moving quickly but then not fast enough. How are you coping with the meds so far?
Glad to hear you’ve not had too many side effects with meds I‘m still just on the pill at mo but start my progynova twice a day next week. Main side effect for me with the pill is poor sleep and craving sweet foods so have put on a few pounds but I guess I’ll need a few extra pounds through all this so not too worried so far. 😀
Hope your blood tests go ok This week and that your all systems go for next week. Good luck with it all and keep me posted x
I had my blood test on weds and following the results they upped by dose of stimulation drugs. Didn’t really give me an explanation of why they did that but I’m just going with it. Still on a low dose of downs reg drugs too which I thought was odd, but everyone says that’s normal on the long protocol.
Freaked out a bit yesterday which was day 8 of stims, noticed some white discharge and thought i was ovulating too early! Checked online and apparently discharge is normal...
Hi there glad to hear things are going ok with you. I’m due to start my progesterone meds at the end of the week so a little anxious to see how they go but hopefully will be ok. Have a good week x
