I had my first IVF cycle cancelled in March when we were 6 weeks in due to the Coronavirus.
My clinic was awarded their licence back in May but are still not offering IVF. Is anyone else experiencing this. I am finding it increasingly frustrating being told they have no news but hopefully soon!! This is people's lives and futures they are playing with and at the moment I just feel my whole life is on hold. They still have all my money so I am having to stick with the clinic but what do I do if it is months until they restart??
I just wish they would be honest and tell me the truth about what is going on instead of just putting me off all the time. I feel it has been very poorly managed but unsure who I need to talk to about it. Sorry for the rant but it has really begun to start to get me down 🙈😪

Hey, Im so sorry you are feeling frustrated.....its horrible when you are all geared up for it and its a no go. It seems to be a bit a reoccuring theme at the moment of being in limbo but things are ramping up. I know some clinics are prioritising frozen embryo transfers at the moment, have they even said if this is what they are doing? Its awful when you are a paying client too, surely there must be some information they can share with you or ask who to complain to?!xx
Hi FoxKinder. Yes, it is a totally frustrating time. Wise words from "Cinderella" by the way. You can keep an eye on the HFEA website hfea.gov.uk for the latest updates. However, do keep contacting your clinic and tell them you will accept a cancellation if one occurs. So much for them to be catching up on, but it doesn't hurt to ask. Thinking of you. Diane
Thank you. I am priority as I was cancelled and have low AMH so I will be in the first round of IVF. They just haven't started any fresh cycles yet and I really don't understand why.
I am being told that if I go elsewhere I will only get a % of my money back which seems really unfair when all of this is out of my control and they can't fulfil their side of the contract.
This is so frustrating. It is the case with the NHS clinic here in Belfast. They update their website weekly but still saying they are making plans and waiting for department of health direction. I’m private at the minute but have a few friends who where cancelled like you and are just as frustrated waiting. I think you should be able to put in a query/complaint through the patient advocate service. Then at least they have to give you some answers within a week or two, it’s law.
Hi. I've also been struggling with something similar. My clinic have their phones turned off, although they've now called me and said we can start in August, but I have not had anything from them just hoping in good faith that we will start in August. They have furloughed their staff 'til mid July for some unknown reason! Bring them back? And, like you, I have paid in advance (we're on an Access Fertility deal) and we can't move clinics without losing thousands! I've emailed my clinic, the HFEA, the British Fertility Society, and Access Fertility and they've all said there's nothing they can do. I just don't understand why the clinic wouldn't want to open earlier. Surely they're a business and must be losing money by being closed? It just doesn't make any sense to me. And of course the impact on all of us waiting, which is excruciating. I hear you.
My clinic stopped my cycle in the middle of treatment. Luckily I was able to have my transfer 2 months later. They are stopping IVF treatments again due to Covid
I live in Texas, so just in Houston. I will say that timing is everything. Originally my cycle was canceled. It was restarted and now I'm 6 weeks pregnant. The egg stimulation medications are expensive. I hope you still have your egg retrevial
