Semen analysis. The basics

My husband would like to get his semen analyised where is the best place to get this done. I was given a form and a cup my a nurse at my local GP last year. The hospital mentioned on the form fertility clinic isn't open does that mean the lab for semen analysis isnt open either? There's a clinic more local to us that does accept NHS referrals.....does that mean they can do the analysis? I'm just abit confused. We live in the east Midlands. Thanks for any suggestions. Ali

Hi alirose. Best to phone the hospital and check. The labs at most places are still working, so hopefully he can still go to the one he was told to. If for any reason it is not, I'm sure your GP will be able to suggest another lab to go to. Good luck! Diane

Thanks Diane I have done they haven't suggested an alternative just to wait until the one of the referral form suggests. Hopefully July will bring better news for us. I'm undergoing fertility acupuntute at the moment and due to have some more bloods done this afternoon so we were keen to get my husband test done soon

Speak to the hospital. I know our local lab is open at the moment so worth giving them a ring to find out. Is there a phone number on the referral form?xx

Thanks Cinderella5 yes that's the one on the referral form. I've also asked my GP. Fingers crossed they will open in July

Damn, worth a try! Thought the labs would have been open to give specimens. Hopefully wont be too long.xx
