I think it depends on your circumstances and if you have any medical difficulties. First step would be to speak to a clinic and start the process for initial tests etc. I think you would need to go private given your age.

I agree with Edinburgh it’s almost impossible to say unless you’ve had tests etc and know your own situation. I’m also 43 and plenty of ladies on this site are around the same age. Some have had success others are still waiting. I have a friend who had twins at 47 with her own eggs so it is possible! Have you had any tests or spoken to a clinic? That would be the best place to start! Good luck x

My mum decided to try for one more child 3 years ago when she was 41 and fell pregnant a few months after trying and has a healthy 2 year old. So it most likely could happen. I suppose it depends on your health like the others have said. Fingers crossed all will go well for you.

Depends on your circumstances , hormone levels , reproductive issues with you or your partner etc you’d prob need to be more specific for people to be able to help.

I’m also 43, still have hope for a miracle. I have low amh but it is what I believe they would expect for my age.

I’m doing all I can to help with egg quality.

I know I can’t do anything about quantity. Not ready to give up. X

I think we all live in hope!

I turned 42 this week, have had 2 miscarriages and have an above average AMH for my age but am being pushed to go straight for IVF!

We are trying to get our clinic to look into the miscarriages but they are pushing IVF just due to age.

I have a phone consultation with a consultant rather than the nurse on Friday to discuss this yet again so fingers crossed she might listen!!

Don’t give up!

Hi! Writing from Boston. I started IVF at 43. I’m now 44 and due this nov, when I will be 45. We did 3 cycles of IVF and ended up with one miracle embryo, tested before the transfer. Please don’t give up and find a doctor who supports your hopes. I was told that it would be difficult, but not impossible.

It seems a lot of us are 43 on here! I agree - there are so many variables, you need to have tests. I have ended up going on the donor egg route, which is what I was advised at the very start 3 years ago, due to diminished ovarian reserve. I had to give my own eggs every chance though. Unfortunately it didn't work for me, but I've seen so many stories of hope on here, you just can't call it. Best of luck. Xx

I am also 43 and the clinic/s wouldnt do own egg IVF anymore, about to start (again after shut down) DD IVF ( double donor) . I feel peaceful about the donor aspects , it is the failures i am so tired of - but everyone has different clinical situation so your might be different , good luck x
