Hi did anyone have any tests done before going for fet after first MMC?? I just want to rule out it's me before transferring? Xx
Hi guys please help did you have any ... - Fertility Network UK
Hi guys please help did you have any tests done after first MMC??
I had a MMC but it was natural and had IVF 2 years later so cant really answer, but what sort of tests did you mean xx
Sorry u had MMC well any really... That can rule out nothing is wrong with me xx
Thanks. Is this your first? I think they do tests such as bloods etc but only if it's happened 3 or more times. I know sometimes they can send tissue of the baby away for testing but not sure what the criteria of that is. Mine was all gone so nothing to test. I think unfortunately it's just 'one of those things' which doesn't really give you any answers. But as you already have your 4 year old you know you can carry ❤
I have a group of 11 friends, of which 7 of us have either miscarried or had a TFMR and 2 of us have had IVF. It is very common unfortunately. Theres only one of us who have been pregnant and not had any problems. You have to keep your head up and keep going. Wishing you lots of luck with your next cycle xxxx
Yea it's my first mmc. Think I might try and get bloods through gp.. what does tfmr mean? And thanks xxx
Yeah its probably a good place to start. Termination for medical reasons.xx
I have not done any further testing since my MC and chemical pregnancy. I'm planning on going ahead with my FET with my remaining embryos, just hoping it works out. It's really hard to know what to do for the best sometimes, best of luck to you xx
Oh ok good luck with ur transfer to. Xx
You could check for blood clotting issues before starting again in case you need to be on blood thinners - Thrombophilia (clotting) screening? I can only think of checking is karyotyping for both you and your husband (to see there are no hereditary issues) but that's quite expensive. Often there are not many people that get answers to why miscarriages happen sadly.xx
My husband has had his karotyping and it's normal we got it free with NHS. But I've not had mine done.. how much is it to check for bloods not clotting...?? Xx
I honesly couldnt say, sorry. Im sure your clinic could tell you though how much a thromophilia screen panel would cost. I had my treatment and tests done abroad so Im really unsure how much it would be in the UK.xx
Hi Eram, the full clotting screen at my clinic was about £900. Wishing you all the best in your investigations. Xx
Thanks xx
I’m so sorry to hear of your loss how awful for you. I don’t come here that often but very sad to hear your news. I had a chemical pregnancy between having my 2 children ( ones now grown up) it was devastating after such a traumatic time TTC like you I also wanted answers. Our fertility dr told us we were just very unlucky & that just because we lost that pregnancy didn’t mean the next pregnancy would be lost. And tried to tell us it was positive we managed to conceive ( in 6 years of not managing to) anyway he was right after my 3rd laparoscopy ( to remove endo) I conceived my daughter. Didn’t do much different. In fact I carried on as normal even had a glass of wine in the 2WW I wasn’t hopeful of it happening !!! usually miscarriage is a one off event ( 1 is too many in my opinion) most ladies that suffer a loss will go on to have a healthy baby ( which I hope is encouraging) xxx
Thanks for your positive words and encouragement. I have been told by my doctor it is a 1 off occurrence... What I'm struggling with at the moment it still happening again.. even though I got beautiful 4 year old girl so know I can carry.. but why is it if they say it's a 1 off occurrence that women have recurrent miscarriages.. I read on n here many times women having loss after loss.. sometimes it can be hard to believe. Xx
We had the NK CELLS blood test after our 1st and only MC which was found to be elevated. Apparently these natural killer cells would have attacked my pregnancy.
Not all consultants believe in the accuracy of this test but mine did and it seemed to be my problem at the time.
We went on to have a intralipid infusion the day after FET and steroid treatment for 12weeks (prednisolone) we are now 33weeks pregnant.
Good luck with your FET x
