I said I wasn’t testing today. But after the news last night, I had to be sure. I’m 11DP5DT. I decided to do a Clear Blue Digital- I needed it in black and white. I was shocked it says 2-3 weeks this early. So now I am reassured, I need to speak to work.
They have said pregnant women are to work from home where possible, avoid social gatherings and peak times at the supermarket.
I need to tell my boss that I’m very early days and that I’m taking no risks.
I work in a school, so we may be shutting soon anyway. She did say I could have this week off but needed a drs note.
Anyone else in this position?

Congratulations! I’m similar to you but 10DP5DT and have just received a positive test. Given the news yesterday I’m planning on working from home from now on Xx
Congratulations hun. I don’t blame you. We need to keep safe. We have all beeb through enough haven’t we?
I’m worrying about the other pregnant women now- will they be taking the time off but then I thought- have they had IVF? Have their bodies been through treatment? No so I’m doing what I feel is best x
I work in a school and have been told I’m not allowed back for the foreseeable future! I would speak to your head and see what they say. If not then your union will back you if you choose to stay home. Congratulations on your positive test!! Xxx
PREGNANT! BTW the NHS advises you can have a week sick and self certify without any note from the doctors.... However, would your clinic provide you with a note if needed? Personally, I would take NO risks. Plus, the government are going to bring out additional guidance soon for the vulnerables (including pregnant ladies) which I think will be asking to self-isolate for 12 weeks (so not even trips to the supermarket I imagine). You're right schools are probably shutting soon anyway. I'm betting this Friday! So what's a few more days... Your pregnancy comes first! xxx
I had a week self certified as it was after treatment. This week, if I’d of had to recover too, I would have needed a drs note. Because it’s government guidelines I don’t think I need one.
My pregnancy is definitely coming first. My mum said she isn’t coming see me either at the weekend as she works for the NHS. It’s crazy x
Ahhhh already done the one week thing. My work has emailed saying pregnants and oldies to stay at home, so I think you're right - if it's government-mandated, it shouldn't need a doctor's note. I can't imagine doctors would be too impressed if they had to write doctors' notes for all of these people! My parents aren't coming to see me either as we are treating me as pregnant even though I'm just in the 2ww. Better to be safe than sorry. xxxx
I understand the worry, we’ve spoken to my stepsons school this morning (he lives with us) because I’m 11 weeks pregnant and they told us we have we take him out for the rest of term and see where everything is at after Easter. He’s 16 and prepping for his GSCEs so not ideal but have to try and be as safe as you can xx
I would just like to point out that we are all entitled to self certify for 7 days, then after such time we require doctors note so your boss is wrong there.
It's a scary time at the moment, think we are all feeling it at whatever stage we are at, and we all have to be sensible and take the proper precautions and take no chances. Take care xx
I self certified last week hun. This would have been my second week post transfer. My boss said I could have had but would need a drs note. Now I’ve been sent home because of the virus I’m not sure what I need as it’s government guidelines x
Congratulations on your positive test. You can definitely self-certify for the first 7 days of sickness. This is what I have done for post egg collection. I am due transfer tomorrow, we were offered to freeze all if we wanted to because of covid but decided we had waited so long to get to this stage and we would carry on.
I messaged my boss last night and said I wasn’t coming back for my last 2 weeks of work as it’s not worth the risk. I feel really guilty but I’m not putting myself/baby at risk!
Congratulations on your amazing news! 😊 Keep yourself safe! I've just done a huge shop last week, going to stay inside for the next 2 weeks (longer if I get my BFP). Your doctor can do phone consultations if needed, don't put yourself at risk xxxx
