Curious - recommended OTD

Afternoon ladies

I'm 9dp3dt and naturally Im getting to that stage in my 2ww when I am starting to think about test date. I dont want to test too soon as I know that can give inaccurate results and I cant go through the heartache of that either way, whether its negative or postive and then negative later if that makes sense!

My OTD is Monday 16th March, so exactly 14dp3dt. But given that its a 3 day embryo that was transferred Im confused as to why it would still be a full 14 days?

Also Ive been chatting with some lovely ladies who have been my transfer buddies and their test dates are this Friday and Sunday - and we all had 3dt on the same day. Its just interesting how different clinics have different recommendations. So I thought I would ask what your experience has been!?

Thank you xxx

Hi, congrats on your embryo transfer and getting this far ❤ I had a 5day transfer and got told to test day 14. I've heard some do 10 and 12 though. I'm not sure if its different with a 3 day transfer though? It will be interesting to hear what ppl say who've had them xx

Hey there, I’ve always had 3 day transfers and was told to test on day 14. Wishing you lots of luck 💕💕 xx

At my old clinic, the test date was always set as 14 days after egg collection so would be the same regardless of whether you had a 2,3 or 5 day transfer (so would be the equivalent of 11dp3dt or 9dp5dt). If you got a bfn though and hasn’t bled, they asked you to stay on meds and retest 3 days later.

At my new clinic, the test day was a lot later at 12dp5dt but the result was final so if negative you would come straight off meds.

I’ve seen a lot of variation with OTDs on here! Seems every clinic has there own dates 🤷🏼‍♀️

Good luck whenever you do test!x

My clinic said to test 14 days after egg collection, which for me was 9dp5dt - in my opinion this was way too early and caused me lots of stress. I had very very faint lines you could hardly see on pregnancy tests the first few days. By 14dp5dt I got a reasonable line that you could see without squinting.

Thank you ladies, it’s all really interesting! You would think the was a standard way working out the date.

I’m going to try hold on for as long as I can- AF usually gets me first.

Entering that stage now where every twinge I worry that AF is on its way. But that’s my paranoia as there’s no signs yet.

I’m a little worried as I’ve only got enough progesterone until Sunday morning but I’m trying to get a hold of my clinic to ask them.

Wishing you all a lovely day xxx

My clinic was 14 days after a 5dt frozen but only 10 days after a 5dt fresh. Apparently frozen can take sometimes take a little longer to implant. I tested early though on the frozen one and wish I didn’t (chemical pregnancy positive) So if you at all can try to hang in there until test date. The one thing I would say though is if the Sunday gives you some time to test without having to rush to work with whatever the outcome is then it should be pretty accurate by then though xx

Hey love. These OTDs..... they're not an exact science - more like an average of when they think the best day to test is! I don't actually know what the clinics base them on - if it's by individual or if it's just a clinic-wide decision for everybody, but must be very annoying that your cycle buddies get to test before you do!
