What do you all think about this test? Is it accurate? Has anyone done it and it’s come out positive?

I am planning to have this test soon. I’m unsure if I am clutching at straws. What was your experience of it? We’re the results normal? X

Hi! My experience was none because it did come out normal. I was told to do it but I’ve read a lot of mixed reviews of that it’s not an accurate test. I was desperate so I tried and did everything .... good luck xx

Hi,I had mine tested and I came back with high nk cells. I am currently 10 weeks pregnant for the first time ever. And I only got pregnant when I took all the drugs. I'm a huge believer in this research the specialists who treat it. Some people are cynical but my baby won't be one of them 👶if you have had lots of miscarriages and chemical pregnancies then this is a good test to have. Good luck xx

Hi, congratulations on your pregnancy. Fab news. I have had 4 natural miscarriages and 2 failed ivf cycles - never been pregnant by ivf yet which is odd considering i get pregnant no problems naturally.

I had the consultant appointment this week and she said if it was positive they are not prescribing steroids at the moment so didn't recommend that test for that reason and also she said if i had it i'd probably not had implantation naturally. Had you been pregnant naturally before? I thought with high nk cells i might fall pregnant and then it attacks the embryo and so then it lets go and doesn't continue. I didn't realise pregnancy usually doesn't occur at all if i had it. Is that your understanding?

I might have it still just to rule it out if anything. I don't understand why i get pregnant naturally but not by IVF so far.

Does your clinic prescribe steriods then?

xx

My advice? Ignore this consultant! Too many don't have the facts, or knowledge of the research and its success rates. I have been pregnant naturally-- four times! First in February 2018, I miscarried at 7 weeks, then again, the following month, miscarried at 5 weeks. I then had nothing for a whole year. 3 ivf cycles: the first doesn't count because they messed up the egg collection and only got two eggs from 19 (don't ask!) and so those two embryos didn't implant; second cycle I had a chemical really early on; my third cycle, two embryos came back abnormal. We then got pregnant naturally after this cycle-- another very early chemical, but I wasn't taking the steroids for this one, then got pregnant naturally again the following month, this time I took steroids straightaway. I had my 10 and a half week scan last week. Your consultant is ill - informed. Nk cells attack at implantation stage, the embryo has to implant to be 'attacked'. My personal experience is that my pregnancies got shorter, 7 weeks, then 5, then barely at all. It's like my body was learning to reject them earlier. As for the 'don't get tested because you can't have steroids anyway' wtf?! So they recommend you keep having ivf even though your body clearly ends pregnancies early, or not at all, which suggests an implantation issue?! I've pm-ed you my specialists name, not sure if he's anywhere near you but he is a literal angel. Also, you don't have to have steroids, you can also be prescribed hydroxychloroquine which does the same job but isn't restricted under covid. I really would recommend you see a specialist, most ivf consultants don't know enough about it to give sound advice. Also just to say, the last time I had my intralipids (you need them every 4 weeks when pregnant if you have high nk cells) everyone in the room was pregnant. One girl was 16 weeks after 4 years TTC, the other was 7 weeks. We are all pregnant because of these drugs. Don't put the test off. If anything, have the test just to rule it out. But don't let this consultant stop you looking into something that you clearly feel in your gut could be the answer to your miscarriages. Good luck xx

Hi zebedee I know this is old post but just went through your post on nk cells testing. In my previous cycles implantation never occurred and I have just started with my stims for another cycle. I mentioned my consultant all this and also about nk cells testing but she didn't seem bothered,do you think that can help? Any suggestions or advice will be appreciated.

Thanks
