Stim check up

Hi all

Went for day 10 scan today to see how I was responding to the Bemfola stim injections. Had 10/11 follicles, one of which measured 18mm the others ranged from 3-16mm. They've said that I need another few days of stims to get more eggs up to at least 17mm (they want at least 3). Is this good? Should I be worried that my eggs need to 'cook' a bit longer?

Worked myself up far too much before this scan and now I feel like I'm in a big teary heap and I'm not sure if I should be feeling positive or anxious! Hopefully I can pick myself back up over the weekend.

3 to 16mm is a huge range - do you know how many are around 12mm or at least above 10mm? Those are the ones that are likely to be ready after a few more days of stims x

Thanks for the reply. I think of the 10/11 6 or 7 were over 10mm. X

Yeah, those are the ones they're giving a chance to grow then - sounds fine, your clinic will know what they're doing and aim for the best outcome for you X

Hey no reason to worry because you have to stimm for more than 10 days. I have always stimmed for 14 days and once I had to stimm for 16 days. My clinic said 14 days is average. All the best

Hi Alocins, I had to carry on with the stims for another 2 days because there wasn't enough at a good size. I had my first melt down after being told that as at the initial scan, the nurse booked my for collection but had a call a few hours later saying they wanted me to stim more. They collected 8 eggs, 7 were mature enough for ICSI so although I was a blubbery mess too, it was the right decision.

Hope this makes you feel a little better. I'm now 5dp5dt.

It really is such a rollercoaster so don't beat yourself up for being an emotional wreck.... We all are xxx
