After having 3 failed ivf/icsi on nhs, we are now looking at private, trying to decide whether to stay with same clinic that already have our tests and details or whether to start from scratch with a new clinic.....
Has anybody got experience.? Is it worth paying out for new tests as a new clinic will want to do all new tests?

Hi there, sorry to hear about your experience with the nhs. That just have been very difficult. I think it’s definitely worth looking around as I don’t expect all clinic will require repeat tests. When I started with my clinic I had IVF MOT tests done from another clinic + some NHS stuff and they were happy to use those provided they were all within the 6months - 1 year. I think it really depends on the clinic. Some may obviously want to start a fresh especially if anything has changed since doing the tests (time passing, taking supplements etc) - that way they may be able to update your protocol so it’s more fitting for now. Given you have a lot of experience with the NHS, one plus side at least is you can go to any new clinic armed with lots of info about what hasn’t worked in the past etc. I find IVF is a bit trial and error when it comes to learnings so expect this experience will give you a head start on that front.
Lots of clinics do free open evenings so if you can make it to any of these you may even get a ‘feel’ for the right one, or even realise your current works well.
Hiya, so sorry to hear about your failed cycles. We have also had 2 failed ICSI rounds on the NHS, and on the hunt for a new private clinic. We have decided to go to a new clinic as we felt like they were getting complacent with us, and we feel like we want a fresh pair of eyes on our situation. Also looking at our clinics success rates they are a lot lower than some.
We have been to one open evening so far, which we found really useful, and we have 2 more lined up, it is quite a daunting task.
One clinic did say that if your AMH and AFC tests were done within a year they wont need to re-test, so you might not have to pay for all new tests.
Hi Kdixxy. If it is any help, I do have a list of questions you might like to go through, that I can send you in confidence. Email me at support@fertilitynetworkuk.org if you want them. Diane
