We have just completed our first round at a Spanish clinic, using donor eggs but unfortunately it didn't work. The clinic have recommended a number of tests including a biopsy for Ermap and Imap testing.
Our understanding is that the biopsy will guide us to the 'window of implantation' - when the lining of my womb is most likely to allow an embryo to implant.
I have spoken to a close friend and GP here in Scotland but they have never heard of the these tests and have struggled to find any information/professional reading on it. He isn't convinced by the science behind this and has recommended we ask for an indication as to what the success rate is in people who have had this done. As yet, the clinic have still to provide us with this information.
Obviously all this costs more money which we have to take into consideration too.
At the moment I'm inclined to go for another transfer but don't want to waste an embryo if we should have had this test...
Has anyone here had, or been recommended these tests, and can offer further advice?

Hi I am not sure if it is the same as what I had at my clinic. Basically I did a mock cycle and then they took a biopsy at the time that would have had transfer and for me it showed that it was at the right window for implantation but that my NK cells are immature so this could be effecting implantation. I also had a blood test to check progesterone levels which came back low. Therefore was able to have a plan specific to me which included having a uterine scratch before cycle, increased progesterone support and also received 3 x small doses of ovitrelle around transfer. I am currently 5dp5dt with a donor egg cycle and hoping this was the answer for my previous failures. Though even if I get a BFN will feel like I have given myself every opportunity through this journey.
Hi, thanks for replying. From what you’ve said it seems to be the same tests as what I’ve been recommended. Before my last transfer I had a scratch (vile) and because my progesterone levels were too low after transfer I had to up my medication too. I then spent a fortune buying all the medication to take me to wk12 so I’m a bit worried they’ll change it for the next transfer and I won’t be able to use it. It sucks that money is influencing my decision!
I had this test done at my Spanish clinic after my first failed DE. Cycle with them. I got pregnant on the next cycle after adjusting meds & time frame, my lil man is currently asleep on my lap.
Here’s a link to what helped me decide to go for the test.
Firstly, huge congrats to you! It’s so good to hear success stories as I don’t know anyone (in real life!) who is using/used donor eggs. I would be really stuck/lonely if it wasn’t for this forum and instagram!
I read your link quickly there but will read it again later. Thank you for your reply x
