Interesting stuff but surely growing embryos past around 5 days means they ‘miss’ the implantation window and might not be suitable to actually be transferred back into the uterus? There

must be a point at which the embryo goes past the point of implantation to focus on other aspects of development? Haven’t a clue but was my first thought as these trials wouldn't have been done with the aim of transferring the embryo back but more to study the early stages of development in a controlled environment.

I must admit I thought the same, as you don't really want an embryo past 5AA at day 5. Just wondered if it would be more beneficial to the slower developing embryos x

Yeh true, we had one which didn’t actually spring into action until the afternoon of day 6 as it was overlooked by accident and would have ordinarily been discarded before that time! Granted it’s not actually stick around after transfer but does make you think, what if...
