IVF mummy and here to help you conceive with ease

Hi - i have a positive fertility journey to share which has resulted in one successful round of IVF resulting in a health baby boy who is now 2.5 years old and i am pregnant with number 2 following a natural conception. I made significant changes to my diet and lifestyle which i put down to being able to conceive baby 2 naturally. I'm here to help other women going through their fertility journey, whether that be IVF or trying for a natural conception. I'd love to chat more - Natalie

Can I ask what u did? I have sever endometriosis and am ttc . My second took 2.5yrs Naturally with a failed ivf cycle in between . I really wanted to try for a third and I know I’m being greedy but there’s no harm in trying!

Hi, thanks for reaching out. You're not being greedy at all, you have every right to want another baby and it will happen. I made loads of dietary changes alongside tracking my BBT EVERY morning so i understood when i was most fertile each month. Do you track your cycles? Mine were irregular but tracking still get me an understanding of fertile signs etc. Happy to chat over the phone about dietary changes that i made.

I use opks as I tried bbt but my sleep pattern isn’t the best for me to do them. My cycles have been fairly regular 28-31 days but let cpl haven’t 🙄. I have cut down on dairy and sugar and don’t eat a lot of meat either, cook fresh homemade food and eat plenty veg & fruit. I have a sweet tooth so I do eat choc/ biscuits/ cakes but nothin like binging on it. I exercise regularly and have just joined a gym so go 3 times a wk. I think I just need to wait and c if it happens ...

Best of luck, i kept meat in my diet and upped my fat intake from avocados/coconut oil/olive oil/nuts/seeds/oily fish to help balance hormones. So much goes on with our hormones that can impact fertility and diet can really help balance them out. Good for you for keeping active as well :)

There is literally nothing wrong with me. I eat well, loads of veg daily, salads, chickpeas, fish, chicken. I have naturally high AMH, no endometriosis, fibroids, polyps or pcos, I don't drink. Ive tracked cycled since forever, opks, everything. I have normal bmi. Good quality embryos and still it failed.

I take every supplement under the sun, coq10, high strength vits D, c and e, omega 3, melatonin, inofolic (myoinsitol and folic acid) plus a pregnancy supplement.

My diet is pretty low in fat on the whole. I occasionally cook with olive oil, bake my fish. I eat wholegrains, pulses etc.

Even the clinic said my 4xab had a really good chance but it failed. My clinic dont know why it failed.

Sorry to interrupt have you asked clinic if it could’ve be the embryos it self?? Chromosomes could have been abnormal?

They've just said you've got to find the right embryo. The likelihood is with my age and oh's poor sperm following VR the last embryo wasn't meant to be. I haven't asked them yet. They said my embryos were all really good... 1x4-5 BA already hatching, 1x ab and 1X4BB. They were all developing normally too. Even though they can find nothing wrong with me I'm convinced it's an issue with me making it not stick x

If that’s how you feel I would have endometrial scratch. How old are you? X

I'm taking 2000mg omega 3 a day. It's done little in increasing follicle count (different protocols) but I'm yet to find out egg quality. EC is tomorrow

HI Natalie, congratulations on your pregnancy. I've just been through my first round of IVF, sadly both of the fertilised embryos that were transferred resulted in a failed cycle. I'm 42 so time is not on my side. I'm looking into supplements aswell as dietry changes. Can I ask if you took any supplements at all. I'm considering Impryl and DHEA - but not sure what the right thing to do/take?

I'm nearly 39. Taken dhea on and off this cycle and a ton of other supplements. I took dhea religiously for 2 months before I got scared that it could impede this cycle. It's a hormone afterall. I've Lived on chicken and chickpea salads too. I have ec tomorrow and will let you know if it made any difference at all if you're interested. I literally only took folic acid only first cycle and like you my first FET failed. Hoping changes are the key X
