I got a BFP yesterday, which was my OTD, but I’ve been feeling quite anxious today as I’ve been experiencing stomach cramps constantly. I’ve had pelvic cramps and every so often feeling like I’ve pulled a muscle near my belly button. Has anyone else experienced this following their BFP? Sorry to be a pest 🙈, think I’m just looking for reassurance! Xx

Congratulations on your BFP! I had such bad cramps for weeks after my BFP and am still getting them on and off now at 19 weeks! It’s your uterus stretching and growing and hormonal changes and the progesterone all doing that to you xxx
Thanks very much. Funnily enough, I just found your post and was reading replies. This is my first cycle of IVF so I’ve been told to stop taking the progesterone following my BFP. I’m hoping it’s just my body adapting, as you say 🙏🏽! Congratulations to you too - that’s great you’re now 19 weeks! Will hopefully feel much better when I get my scan in 4 weeks. Just praying I get to that xx
That first scan was the most nerve wracking thing I’ve ever done in my life, especially as I had a miscarriage at 4 weeks in March. But it is also the most amazing moment of my life!!!! You need to somehow enjoy this time and relax and look after yourself xxx
Hi, I am 6 weeks pregnant today and ive had cramps on an off. also weird muscle aches on each side. think im maybe tense so thats causing that. I wouldnt worry! sounds positive x
I had a lot of cramping in the few days after my BFP too and at my first scan everything looked good. I'm not sure about you but I had terrible constipation as a result of all the meds and extra progesterone so I think that also contributed to the cramping. Congratulations, wishing you a happy, healthy pregnancy ahead xxx
Thanks so much for your reply. I actually thought about that last night. I’m coeliac so I am constipated quite a lot but the progesterone definitely made it even worse, so that might be part of the problem! Did you take anything for it or did you just let things take their course? Congratulations to you 💕, so glad to hear everything looked great at your scan!! Xxx
I think it's very common in early pregnancy so quite possibly the cause. I started drinking prune juice (yuk!) and making sure I was eating plenty of fibre and it helped. That said it's not totally resolved (I'm now 8 weeks) I'm going to talk to my doctor to see if I'm allowed to take lactulose - the clinic said it was fine after EC but I'm not sure once you're pregnant if it's ok. It's not much fun but it will all be worth it in the end! xx
