FET

Morning all,

This is my first IVF cycle and I’m not sure how it all works... I’ve had previous (failed) IUIs but this is very different.

I’m having a FET as I’m high risk of OHSS and after having bloods every other day for over a week, the clinic finally said that they are scheduling my transfer for Thursday with a frozen 6 day blastocyst. Everyone talks on here about the dreaded 2WW and I’ve been through it myself numerous times with the IUIs. However, my next period is due exactly a week after my transfer date ... is this normal? Surely this means if it hasn’t worked I’ll know much earlier than the two weeks?

A little confused about it all...

Hi HelenJudi. You will probably be using progesterone pessaries to sustain your womb lining, thus hopefully preventing a bleed. All seems to be working out OK, so I wish you well for the 2WW and of course for success. Diane

Hello, thank you for replying. My clinic have said that I won’t be using anything as it’s a natural cycle. Not even progesterone pessaries... is this not normal?

Hi HelenJudi. Clinics have their own protocols, so they must be happy with your lining and hormones not to suggest using progesterone. You can always check, but try not to panic, as your own progesterone will take over anyway. Diane
