Uneven cells

Got a call from the clinic today, day 2 to say my embryo is a good embryo with slightly uneven cells, but still good. I can’t find much information about this online. Has anyone had a good embryo with slightly uneven cells and had success? Calling me again tomorrow and fingers crossed for transfer on Saturday...

On day 2, I had a 3 cell and a 7 cell, then by day three transfer, one had become 8 and the other was a 5. I know the ideal is a 2, 4, 8 split but the embryologist was still happy to put both in, calling them average quality. They can steady into a more even splitting pattern later on, so I was told. I guess the key question to ask is how much fragmentation there is because that can effect the quality... If they say yours are good, fragmentation might be minimal I'd guess? I am still waiting to hear if mine have taken so can't advise you on the latter part of your question, but even the consultant said perfect embryos often don't make it, and less quality ones do, it's just a numbers game I'm afraid. Just need to wait and see. Good luck x

Thank you for replying! Mine have split 2/4, she said good embryo but cells slightly uneven, so I thought she meant size of the cells. I really should have asked more questions but I’m still in shock it fertilised as first round failed at fertilisation and I only got one egg this time!!! Will see what she says tomorrow! Ahh OK, in that case I know nothing about that! At least they're splitting, fingers crossed they keep up the good work

Clinic just called to say embryo is doing well. Cell size has evened out thankfully and it has split in to 8 and doing everything it should! Wahhhh. Booked in for transfer Saturday as long as it keeps doing ok! How long have you got left of 2ww??? How are you feeling?

Oh that's great news! Welcome to the 8 cell embryo club!! I have my pregnancy test on 2nd August, so just over a week. I'm not hopeful to be honest. I think when they messed up the egg collection, even though they got 2 good eggs and they both fertilised, I just had this immediate feeling of impending doom. Hard to get excited when you know a single phone call can knock you down still got fingers crossed though. Here's hoping we both get good news soon!

Thank you. 3 day update was great. My one lil embryo is doing well and could t be graded any higher they said!! uneven cell sizes have evened out! Fingers and toes crossed for day 5!! Booked in for transfer now!! Know it can all change overnight so trying to reign in my excitement!xx
